Don't worry, the AMOC will collapse soon and swing things wildly the other way.

Yeah I'm looking forward to 31 degrees in my badly ventilated modern construction box on Sunday that I own and accept the next 3.5 months of hell.

Watch us do absolutely nothing.

It'll be fun when we get to 2051 and the government say "there's no way we could have forseen this"
antihostile@reddit
Watch us make it worse.

Yea, this.
The push needed for this is much more complex than what was needed for the ozone layer crisis, and even that level of global cooperation is long gone.

The following submission statement was provided by /u/wasraelx:
(Submission statement) From the article:
‘Landmark report calls for widespread air conditioning and says UK temperatures forecast to exceed 40C by 2050.
Measures such as drawing curtains, opening windows and growing trees for shade are not likely to be enough.
Air conditioning should be installed in all care homes and hospitals within the next 10 years, and in all schools within 25 years, according to the Climate Change Committee (CCC).
The government should also set a maximum temperature for working, indoors and outdoors.
The UK should prepare for 2C of global heating by 2050, as attempts to limit temperatures to 1.5C above preindustrial levels under the Paris agreement appeared likely to fail.’
