Balkan teens, what would you actually want to read and what about?

So clearly school goes by the rules of the old ass ages, and many aren't interested in books schools or librarians recommend because again, they recommend books "for your age" meanwhile we're just trying to get that analyzed and over with just for the grade not giving a shit for the story itself.

So tell me, what topics, tropes, or themes would you actually read? I'm talking to those who want something other then "war", "slow romance of blah blah blah...." something that causes you to think "okay- maybe this ain't so bad", mainly topics or books that our countries do not offer but others do.

Also I am not just referring to books, but games, and movies as well, whatever visual media that is. What topics would pull your interest immediately?

I want to read about the religious and spiritual traditions that pre-date Islam and Christianity and show traces even in today’s societies in such strong ways that they exist in folk traditions in both Muslim and Christian communities, like the whole evil eye thing for example.

Also, obviously there is a big abundance of literature about Ancient Greek mythology and religion, but I’d also love to learn more about other belief systems in the Balkans and in Anatolia..
