And it's all based on more ED visits. Did anyone even consider that more people coming to the ED for a tick bite does not even necessarily mean there are more tick bites?
FieldsofBlue@reddit
...Huh...
...I guess they won't explain the hypothetical link or motive Bill Gates would have for breeding and releasing diseased ticks. It's just another fear bogeyman story with no substance.
slayingadah@reddit
Apparently, according to the tin foil folks, it's cuz Gates is now heavily invested in alternative meats, like the impossible burger.
TruePromise4@reddit
He’s also in the vaccine game and big health in general- as well as food production. Thats 4 motives now without thinking deeply at all
ThatDamnRocketRacoon@reddit
And he funds scientists creating genetically modified mosquitos being released. And he's linked to Epstein. And his mass grab of farm land. And he's theorized about blocking out the sun. And he was misquoted about lowering the world population.
Don't @ me, because I'm not saying I believe in any Gates conspiracies, but he's involved with plenty of things that are going to make conspiracy minded people give him the side-eye. It's not like you have to even stretch that far to come up with conspiracy theories about the weirdo. Especially now that he's suddenly bending the knee to Trump.
TruePromise4@reddit
Well said big dog

The thinking is if you HAD to curve Meat consumption QUICKLY for say, Climate Change, what better vessel to do that then Alpha-Gal Syndrome.
Reasonable_Swan9983@reddit
The internet really makes us dumber, or at least it solidifies our predispositions. I used to childishly think that the internet & even ai will make humanity smarter with all the knowledge at our fingertips.
I would probably ignore this post, but during COVID my cousin told me something about Bill Gates and a conspiracy theory she believes in, and it stayed with me. So I totally see this happening and even with greater intensity.
I mean, ticks that make you allergic to red meat? Must be the leftist-vegan-agenda that wants you to eat bugs and be happy, or something.
You look long enough you can see how every crisis happening because of our civilization is being reduced to this often. Bad weather = HAARP, Disease = depopulation tac-ticks (hehe, sorry), and so on.
ContestNo2060@reddit
It’s just propaganda to distract from the real causes. Soviets did this kind of stuff during their economic collapse with things like UFOs. It creates a lore and narrative that rivals objective reality. Reality can be proven or disproven, but an entire alternative sphere of interconnected facts that conveniently points the other way would be very useful while pulling the rug on an entire society. It doesn’t have to be correct, just loud. It is eventually discovered to be incorrect, but by that time the money is laundered and the power is concentrated and we’ve all moved on to the next stupid conspiracy.
NimbusFPV@reddit
These people are a plague of pure stupidity that has been unleashed on our world.
Bazillion100@reddit
Its not stupidity, they simply do not care about anyone besides themselves. Having people sick, angry and conspiratorial benefits them
jez_shreds_hard@reddit
The thing that is absolutely crazy is they're brains are so broken that when you show them objective data that proves they are wrong, they don't believe it. They listen to idiots with no data or science to back up their wild conspiracy theories and they believe them immediately. How do you deal with this as a society? It's one thing if people are willing to learn and change their viewpoints based on facts. These idiots are unreachable and unreasonable.
OatSoyLaMilk@reddit
It's a longstanding conspiracy theory that the US military used ticks for some fucked up shit: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/rfk-jr-backed-lyme-disease-conspiracy-theory-may-be-probed-under-new-bill/
cozycorner@reddit
I have alpha gal and live in rural Kentucky. These dumbfucks are insane and my neighbors.
Lumburgsgotafishroom@reddit
Alpha-Gal is no joke.
Imagine having period cramps, while trying to shit out constipated diarrhea. Also you are extremely itchy and hot and uncomfortable. Not to mention having anaphylactic shock/ potential.
I have personally blacked out multiple times during episodes...
And since it's processed in the small intestines, you don't know you're gonna have a reaction after eating the trigger food for around 7 hours afterwards.
MayhemSays@reddit
There’s so much things you can blame Bill Gates for. Why the fuck would you make shit up for?
Known_Expression1308@reddit
Fuck bill Gates. Piece of shit asshole, nobody should be rooting for this guy. He is one of the big players in why we are in this mess
Grand-Page-1180@reddit
For a group that places a lot of emphasis on individualism and personal responsibility, they sure like pointing fingers at other people.
HardNut420@reddit
Yea I seen a lot of people talk about this it's kinda dumb but we do live in a dumb country I guess it easier to blame one guy then it is to blame climate change
cranberries87@reddit
I heard something about this here on Reddit- that a bunch of ticks were intentionally dumped somewhere. I was so confused, LOL.
Deguilded@reddit
It can't possibly be climate change, it's gotta be George Soros! Or Bill Gates! Same diff. Billionaires bad okay? Unless they're our guys, like Musk or whoever.
Physical_Ad5702@reddit
I mean, Bill Gates is a piece of shit human being but this is just stupid.
Why is anyone listening to MAHA anymore or amplifying their BS Qanon adjacent theories? Haven’t they proven themselves to be a bunch of cranks with zero credibility and morals?
Let them rot in their own echo chamber of conspiracies and ivermectin while the rest of humanity tries to get on with whatever it is humanity is doing these days until the house of cards falls down.

Thank you for the link explaining what that is – I think he nailed it.

Every time you think the stupidity has plateaued, we're proven wrong.

The following submission statement was provided by /u/Creepyfaction:
"The next MAHA conspiracy is about this year’s record tick season, it involves Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates – and it was also disproven three years ago.
"Social media users are claiming the billionaire philanthropist bred and released ticks with alpha-gal syndrome, which causes life-threatening allergic reactions to red meat. The MAHA Moms Coalition asked farmers to come forward to confirm whether boxes of ticks were being left on their land.
And the real explanation for the most tick-related ER visits in nearly a decade? Well, human actions do contribute to rising risks.
”Warmer, shorter winters combine with changes in how we manage our landscapes, reduced wildlife diversity, invasive species (both plants that enhance tick habitat and different tick species) and how we interact with our environments to increase the risk of tick-borne diseases,” Lampman explained."
From a related article: "The number of emergency room visits related to tick bites just reached its highest level in the U.S. in nearly a decade.
For every 100,000 visits, 71 were due to tick-related complaints, according to the most recent data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The normal average number of visits is just around 30 for this time of year, indicating to experts that the blood-suckers are out and about earlier this year."
The USA is facing one of the worst tick seasons in a decade with the proliferation of ticks linked to climate change. But rather than face reality, conspiracy theories are taking root and will delude people towards the wrong outcomes. And this conspiracy is just one of many regarding multiple diseases that have spawned lately.
