I was hoping to find something with a 50+ miles range if possible
wendyd4rl1ng@reddit
Nope. You're looking at a really really crappy bike or a big fixer-upper with that price.
reptilesrcomplicated@reddit
Depends where u buy
wendyd4rl1ng@reddit
No it doesn't. You yourself just said in a comment that you paid $150 more than what OP is asking for and I doubt your bike has 50+ miles of range.

I can do more than 60 miles on pedal assist u can google lens my bike you’re more than welcome

I got her with only 24 miles on market currently sitting at sweet 170 miles two weeks later!! U can def do it she goes 30mph
FCAlive@reddit
How long do you need it to last?

I’ve bought two bikes off Temu, one $180, the other $400. Both seem fine. I have quite a few bikes, and they aren’t that bad compared to the Lectric, Aniioki, aventon. People get freaked out about the batteries, but, they’ve been pretty solid bikes. I picked them up to ride to certain places where should theft happen, not a huge loss, like one

How many years do you think that bike will last?

I keep getting pop ups on Temu for free gifts so I really didn't get a chance to look thru their bikes.

I bought a well-used but decent single speed bicycle with a rear rack and fenders in 2005 for $250. It was one of my best bicycle purchases.

FCAlive@reddit
Fuck no. That a good price for a well working bike.

Stolen one maybe.

My last bike service which included a hub replacement was $700.

You can definitely get 50 miles out of a $300 ebike, if you have access to a 50 mile high cliff. Hope this helps.

Your best bet is someone who doesn't know anything about them selling something which is repairable, I doubt you'll have luck and find a bike with a broken throttle wire or a broken charger at the guy sells as a broken bike but that is your best bet, possibly a controller change... Generally it's quite specialist research so you would have to spend a while researching possibly waiting like a auction sniper on the local classifieds and research every available sale for quality and spontaneity of the seller... I have bought so many good things using deep research of classifieds for example a car that has lasted me 10 years with no repairs, Lenovo laptop which has lasted 14 years... I think you will have difficulty doing what you want certainly take a lot of effort to find something decent for 300 with that range
Pstrap@reddit
Nope
vtsnowstorm@reddit
You'd be in used super low end ebike territory for that price. I'd never trust the battery on one of those new let alone from someone who was doing who knows what to the battery. Not worth the fire risk.

I've seen DIY ebikes for $300. Not often, but they're out there. If you can wait a while, something might pop up. The cheapest I ever see decent quality factory ebikes is usually closer to $600.
