This feels structural to me, but who knows….

Well I'm glad the investigators don't work on feelings and vibes.

Investigators?
This is the aviation subreddit sir! We don’t need investigations, we are able to determine root cause of any accident within 30 minutes using a 10 second video clip and a couple of news reports!!!
nas22_@reddit
It's almost like people have insider info on the accident, know exactly what happened, yet still make vague statements because they can't legally say any more. I promise you nearly every pilot at columbus and many across the entire air force know exactly the reason for the grounding and the exact circumstances of the crash. They just can't legally talk about it.

I have Juan Brown do the light work

If it’s structural vibes probably have something to do with it

No. We don’t. I’ve worked several mishaps. 🙂

The good news is the replacement is under budget and being built ahead of schedule
airboss1971@reddit
Ahead of schedule? From where do you get that information? It’s “under budget” because the AF got it on a fixed-price contract, just like the KC-46.

Hopefully they get them back in the air soon, I get to see them every day and love them.

Back in the 80s one of my classmates sucked up the gear and rolled the flaps on takeoff and the wing folded over the top of the fuselage. Luckily he and the IP got out. It was his dollar ride in the T 38 (first ride in the jet). Turned out to be a wing spar crack issue.

Official statement doesn’t provide much other than both air crew members ejected and are ok. https://www.columbus.af.mil/News/Article/4484890/press-release-may-12-2026/
Chronigan2@reddit
What do you mean by structural? There is no mention in the article of what the issue might be or what happened in the referenced incident.
Aerocat08@reddit (OP)
Guess just a hunch based on my experience and the language used in this paragraph.
The duration of the pause remains undetermined pending further engineering analysis and development of an inspection process to clear aircraft for a safe return to flight. Inspections are anticipated to begin as early as this week. Individual aircraft may resume flying operations once the inspection process and, if necessary, any corresponding maintenance actions are complete.
