Chevy Trax 2025 vs Trailblazer 2023. Which to buy?

Both same engine. Both FWD. Trax has 10k miles and Trailblazer has 28k miles. Trailblazer is 4k cheaper. Where I'm stuck is the Trax is automatic and the Trailblazer is CVT. I keep reading awful things about CVT. But I like the compactness of the Trailblazer. (I'm replacing a 2017 Trax.) Which would you choose and why? And I do know many would say neither, but if you had to lol

If you must get a cheap chevy, get an AWD Trailblazer. It has the 1.3L engine (with chain, not wet timing belt) and the AWD version has a real automatic transmission (no CVT).
But also, you can probably buy something better for your budget (assuming you're spending like $20k?). You could be in an equivalent used Honda HR-V or Corolla Cross or a Subaru Crosstrek for that same spend.

You could... or you could buy a decent car instead

What would you rec then for a subcompact SUV?

Toyota RAV4, mostly

Thoughts on Mazda CX-30?

Pretty good as well. Can't go wrong with Mazda.

Both of them have the same problematic small displacement turbo 4cylinder. Im a GM fanboi. I wouldnt touch a car with that motor with a 10 foot pole.

Yeah, my 2017 Trax's engine just died randomly. So I'm out a vehicle and feel beholden to choose from what they have available. ☠️

Why do you feel beholden to buy a Chevrolet vehichle? They most likely have used cars thet aren't chevrolet in your price range. Also though you randomly had a trax motor shit the bed and your going to roll the dice on a repeat? That's crazy.

The convenience I guess. The dealership location and they have my vehicle. I took my previous car there for years and it was pretty solid. I am still looking, tho.
