Pour one out for the GOAT

RIP to the Goofiest of All Time. He's been to more states and countries than my own parents have. But with my new job, which doesnt allow pets in the truck, I've only been able to see him every 5 days. Today, the seizures finally got to be too much it seems. It was something we had been warned about 5 years ago when we first adopted him, but with the daily anti-seizure meds, he had responded very well over the years and they were quite manageable in fact. We knew each one could be the big one, and while I wish I was there during his final lucid hours (when I got to the hospital, he was heavily sedated already), I know he's way happier now that he doesnt have to deal with health problems anymore.
Pets are great. More trucking companies should allow dogs on the job, but perhaps thats a discussion for another time (I understand why my new employer doesnt allow pets as my route requires slip-seating, but maybe it could be a perk for driver retention purposes in the future, idk).
Thank you for allowing me to vent. Give your lil buddies an extra treat or two today for me if you are lucky enough to be able to do so.

I'm so sorry bud. I see my boy Steve (cat) getting older and I know it's coming someday. I'm sad just thinking about it.

Condolences and RIP to the Road Warrior 💔. I lost my Navigator 2 years ago. He lived a good life. I’ll have one for him when I get home. He’s a handsome fella.
