Advice (Mega training vs GI Bill)

Hello all. I've been thinking about getting my CDL A. I currently have a CDL B but have always been interested in trucking. Does anyone have an idea of whether it would be more beneficial for me to use my GI Bill to go through schooling or to just go through a mega training program? I know going through the megas locks you in for a contract, but wonder if that may still be better than using GI Bill and having to find employment straight out of school. Thanks in advance!

I just used my gi bill. Still working on my degree but figure I can pay out of pocket but I have a baby now and had to find a job that pays decently and has benefits. I wouldn’t go otr personally but that’s because I have a baby and I’m not going to miss her growing up. Do not use the gi bill at a mega they will suck it dry, only use it if you do community college. It barely takes any away

Thanks. I wouldn't use the GI at the mega. Would have just had them cover the schooling and did the contracted obligation in exchange.

Yeah if you don’t mind being locked into a contract then do that but the community college I went to had recruiters coming in all the time. McElroy, werner, rohel, tmc… etc. a few people were already hired at Werner as long as they got their license.
