Best AM4 CPU for architecture/rendering?

I'm trying to build my first setup which I will mainly use for Architecture software, rendering, photoshop etc. and occasionally some games.
I wanted to get the ryzen 9 9950x3d, price was good but ram price is crazy since I need 128gb of Ram for any decent performance, so I was wondering what the best AM4 amd cpu is so that I can get my 128gb of ram
Thanks all;

Depending on the amount of cores you need tou can go 5800xt or 5900xt. Same clock speeds from what I see the only difference is the core count where the 5900xt has 16 cores

16 cores minimum

Yep then the 5900xt is the one for you that's the only am4 CPU with 16 cores

5950X & 3950X are also 16 cores.

Thank you

Why not Intel LGA1700? You can do DDR4 with it and use a CPU like a 14700K or KF.

I need Amd cpu because of multi cores and it's generally better for rendering and CAD

We'd be talking 20 cores here.
The older 16 core 13700K beat every Ryzen 5000 in rendering.

The huge boost in single thread performance would be a massive gain for Solidworks.
The latest AMD CPUs and high end Threadripper are among the best choices. But if you want to limit it to DDR4, then Intel pulls ahead because your would be looking at 5+ year old AMD products vs 2 years with Intel.

Okay that makes a lot of sense, intel for am4, amd high end for am5. Thank you brodigy

Intel for DDR4, it's LGA1700 not AM4.
But even with DDR5, Intel is very competitive: https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/intel-core-ultra-200s-plus-engineering-review/#SOLIDWORKS

What do you recommend, my main program is ArchiCad
Should I get one of the best Ddr4 cpus with 128gb ram
Or on of the best ddr5 cpus with 64gb ram
aminy23@reddit
Are the models your work with complicated and detailed enough to warrant 128GB RAM?
That's ultimately what it boils down to.
96GB DDR5 is also an option, and often a better option. For example:

If games are third in your priorities than what about looking for a non x3d and making up the difference with more RAM?
NioHorminjo1@reddit (OP)
I am under the impressiom that the x or x3d cpus are generally better in higher workloads and are the fastest, that's why I was thinking of getting it but idk the min maxing of it
Legitimate_Payment49@reddit
just make sure you buy the 4x RAM kit; Don't get two pairs of RAM.
Also, just setting your expectation, when you are running on 4 sticks, you might need to manually slow down the RAM to maybe 2933Mhz or even 2666Mhz for them to be stable.

Yeah thats what I was going to do, although I got and idea, idk if 64gb ddr5 is better than 128gb drr4, price is mostly the same, but the am5 cpu will be much better so idk
