Mahj-Friendly Restaurants in Dallas

Hey Dallas! A few friends and I are looking to take our Mahjong setups out on the town, but we want to make sure we’re actually welcome before we start shuffling tiles.
We’re looking for restaurants that won't mind us occupying a table for a game, obviously while we order plenty of food, drinks, and cocktails to make it worth their while.
- When: Lunch or early dinner (off-peak hours so we aren't hogging space during a rush).
- Where: Preferably near downtown, but not in downtown. Think Knox Henderson, Uptown, Oaklawn, Design District, Lakewood or Highland Park.
We know spots like Terilli's or Times Ten Cellar do Mahj nights, but we're looking for great patio or dining room spots where we can just roll up and play. Any patios or spacious dining rooms that wouldn't mind the tile-clacking? Thanks in advance!

Absolutely Vector. That was the first place that came to mind. I’ve also seen people playing on the patio at Lochlands.

If you are around Lochlands and Vector, maybe call “Peace, Love Mahjong” on the corner of Ferndale and NW Hwy (not sure if you can play there or they sell things, but all places are with in a mile of each other.

I would assume 85% of restaurants and bars in dallas would be fine with it

We play at Don Pepe’s on Arapaho. We just make sure to tip well!

Times Ten Cellar in Lakewood. I see people playing there everytime I go.

Whole Foods usually has upstairs seating for things just like this

Craft and Growler on their Monday game nights and you can ask about others. Not really what I call restaurant though

Call some of the restaurants in Deep Ellum. They are hurting for customers because of the construction, and as long as you are buying some food too, they'll probably be very cool about it being your mahj hang.

Come with a very big tip!!! Like, huge. 🌟

Given the amount of drinking we do, that is usually not a problem!

Most Asian restaurants around Design District are pretty chill about this kind of thing since they get the whole mahjong culture. Just call ahead and ask if you can reserve table for few hours during slow time - they usually say yes if you're ordering decent amount of food
The patios in Knox Henderson would work great too since outdoor noise isnt as big deal and servers dont mind longer stays when weather is nice
