Anyone wanna help me pick a moped style bike in the $800-1400 range?

Currently, with about an hour or two of research and reviews, I'm liking the KingBull Ranger or the VicTrip R6 Pro.
Ranger cons: battery even though it's 18ah it doesn't have the motor or watts the R6 Pro has.
R6 Pro cons: single speed (I honestly don't know how much this matters but some of the reviewers seemed like they were working pretty hard to pedal it). On the heavier side 90lbs.
I want the Ranger with the motor and battery of the R6 Pro. Or a lighter R6 Pro with a 7 speed.
What else should I be looking at?

Don't bother posting here about suggestions about electric mopeds. You're much better off trying your luck in actual moped subs, I know this sub specifically allows electric mopeds, but the community here doesn't, because they want to exclude anything that is not pedal-assist bicycle, and of specific brands.
Alternatively try to find a EU-centered sub where people aren't fighting for who belongs where on the road and on bike paths.

I mean the bikes I mentioned are pedal assist. They have chains and gears and pedals. It's just a style of bike is it not? Like asking for a banana seat or cruiser bike?

Yes. That's correct, it's a subcategory of Ebike and uses bicycle components. But people here don't see it that way, sadly. A lot of people see these Ebikes as motorcycles. And I'm not saying they think it "Looks too much like a motorcycle", I'm saying, they genuinely believe these things and a GSXR are comparable vehicles, as in, they're motorcycles in the same way. (Which they're not)
I wish I was kidding. Look up a few posts about someone showing off their electric moped, people will, almost without fail refer to these as a motorcycle.

Thanks for the infos. That's kinda why I leaned toward the two I picked they are the closest to not looking like actual motorcycles / dirt bikes but still fit the style. I guess I'm looking for like a hybrid bike. I'll keep searching. What you ride?
SlashNreap@reddit
In my honest opinion? If you are licensed and/or you can ride one legally, get whatever you feel is right for your specific needs. I ride a motorcycle (but am into Ebikes as well). That's why I'm so adamant in getting people to make the distinction on here, but it's a whole can of worms.
I don't know what model to recommend you, but I can recommend you a few things to be on the lookout for:
- Norm certification. Ebikes are in a grey area in terms of safety standards, but you should definitely look for something that will be certified so you'll know your components are decent. This is especially important for your battery and BMS.
- IPX rating. Important if you plan to commute in weather that isn't strictly sunny and dry.
- Get familiar with some terms. An Ebike can be advertised as 1500Watts and still perform like shit. Look for specifics, and learn what it means, like Nm (Newton Meter), Wh (watt-hour), Ah (amperage, both Wh and Ah good reference for your range).
- Gear. At least a helmet and gloves would be my recommendation. No shame in going full-face helmet.
If you have any local shops that sell these, I'd recommend checking them out. If not, then unless you're willing to buy secondhand, online will be your best bet.

You might consider the Seemoon SM4 off-road electric motorcycle. Its 48V 28Ah battery gives it a peak output of 3000W. Furthermore, its dual suspension system allows for a top speed of 28MPH.

It's like everyone must have precisely the same vehicle for the exact use-case as you do.

What else was that GIF supposed to mean?

How about the same question has only been asked. AND answered a MILLION times. JFC, that meat between your ears has a purpose if you even give it a small chance.
SlashNreap@reddit
Well granted, there is a lot. But they wouldn't keep posting new ones if those answers were actually helpful and didn't boil down to: "E-trash" or "Save up and get a REAL electric bicycle, like X brand." or "Stop trying to get these on the road", or any other variation of something that is, in fact, of no actual help to the questions posed.
PreferenceAny3920@reddit
Oh ok, well as long as YOU have a reason for being an asshole.
SlashNreap@reddit
I'll take it. Sorry for not guessing that "I'd rather not" to an innocuous question was actually a sensible statement about repetitive posts, and not just "I hate electric mopeds" like what seems to be the vastly vocal majority of this sub.

I get it, the anti-bike cyclists who Need to fuck back off to the cycle reddit get my goat too Hate seeing their gatekeeping and honestly I think at this point they are all bots, both human and digital style. Not a single unique thought amongst any of them. Annoying really, but not all of us are from that camp of puppets.
SlashNreap@reddit
I'm honestly convinced a lot of these are bots to promote specific brands. Anyway, my bad for assuming but yeah it's pretty bad when my kneejerk reaction is this lol

Customer service is great and I have several thousand miles on some of their products so I can definitely be proof they aren't that bad actually
