Lost my log book

I have checked everywhere possible and traced steps as closely as possible. Ill keep going but its been days and im loosing hope. At this point i meed to consider steps moving forward.
I have all flights logged on flightcircle and i assume i can dig for specifics on flightaware. Is it possible to rebuild this? I had to cancel my ppl checkride in a few days because of my stupidity and im really tired.
I just want to know if there is a way out of this.
Id like to blame my instructor for not telling me it would be smart to take pictures or start a digital log but in reality i should’ve figured that out via common sense. I have the time to remake but not the knowledge.

Here is what I do: Every time I turn a page in my log book I take a picture of the complete page backed up to iCloud, I change my headset batteries, check by backup radio batteries, check my flashlight, make sure my usb battery is fully charged so I can recharge my ipad or phone if needed, check for key items in my flight bag like pens, leatherman, charging cable, etc.

It’s not the end of the world. Get with your CFI and see if you can rebuild your logbook using the resources you have.
Not sure why you felt the need to pass the blame on someone else. Does Apple need to try to force your hand to back up your phone because something might happen and you’ll loose the data? You live in a tech driven world and have had experiences in the past where you have lost something important that would not have been a big ordeal with a backup. You have also had important items saved because they were backed up. This is common sense. Don’t blame others. Take a breath and move forward.
But yes, it’s kinda really important during your training to keep your logbook safe and always have a backup. That’s not anyone else’s fault.

Thats what i said. I want to blame anyone but it really is just be being dumb here
SMELLYJELLY72@reddit
why do u wanna blame someone?
ApoTHICCary@reddit
Dude is downvoting every comment regardless if they’re are helping him or not. I have no idea what’s wrong with OP, but this is some weird behavior. Wanting to blame his CFI seems on point.
ApoTHICCary@reddit
Yeah, you keep saying that. It’s redundant at best, and tongue in cheek at worst. If you’ve already concluded that it’s solely your fault, why even bring up your instructor? Neither does it look good on your side nor does it add any substance to your predicament.

I didnt. I was just talking to reddit
ApoTHICCary@reddit
What?
SnooCupcakes1514@reddit
Talk to your FSDO... They will tell you what to do.

Does your instructor log entries digitally?
If this happened to one of my students, I could quickly export a spreadsheet from ForeFlight with all the flights we’ve done together.
I’d also give them a hard time, because I’m always telling people to total up their pages and write their name in their logbook.
When I was working on my PPL, I’d make sure every completed page was totaled before leaving the school that day.
Digital logbooks are definitely the way to go. I’ve always kept both paper and digital logs, and every now and then I catch an error that needs correcting.
I was updating my insurance earlier today and could instantly provide all my totals because everything is already in ForeFlight.
TxAggieMike@reddit
Will the FF export include your signatures?
Mountain_Permission5@reddit (OP)
Unfortunately i didnt record in foreflight, i will for the future though
Mountain_Permission5@reddit (OP)
I wish i had done that. He told me we would total it all up before submitting the iacra but i lost it the day before. What luck
Ok_Method_2790@reddit
i believe you should be able to find your previous flights in flight circle. if you don’t already have it, i would download foreflight and start adding your flights asap. i had to put in 6 years worth of flights into there and it would be a lot easier if you went ahead and started logging them electronically now
Mountain_Permission5@reddit (OP)
I use foreflight every flight, does it record automatically
Competitive-Ask5157@reddit
Doesn't your flight school keep records of receipts with Hobbs and tach times?
My school sent emails with detailed receipts with time and notes referencing a XC or first solo.

Private cfi
outworlder@reddit
If you have configured it to auto start(and it has access to GPS), it may have recorded the track logs.
outworlder@reddit
Ok, that sucks, but you sound like a kid.
It's not like you suddenly discovered how important a logbook is.
I have the paper logbook, which is always in the flight bag (inside a ziploc bag). The flight bag has an AirTag in it. Then I copy the entries to ForeFlight, which back ups across devices and periodically sends it over email. And on top of that I have scanned the pages and update the scans every time there's a new page. Did my instructor have to tell me to do that? Of course not.
Now check your rental logs(assuming you rent). ADSB if you are desperate. Your own instructor logbook for the dual instruction.
It shouldn't be too difficult - other than a pain in the ass - to recover the dates and times. The main issue I see is with the notes.

Well. Its my first time living. Sorry
AtomicShadow117@reddit
If you can’t find it, just sit with your instructor and try to rebuild it on a digital service like foreflight or my flightbook and be digital.
Mountain_Permission5@reddit (OP)
Looking like thats the move here
TxAggieMike@reddit
Remind me to attach an AirTag or equivalent to my logbook.
Mountain_Permission5@reddit (OP)
Very worth the time

Don't give up hope, even if you have to cancel your checkride. If you didn't take pics or keep an electronic copy you're not going to be able to test. But I lost a credit card last year. Looked everywhere with no luck. I canceled the card and a couple months later found it in a place I had searched numerous times. Good luck.
vivalicious16@reddit
Comparing a credit card to a logbook is crazy work
Cessna131@reddit
You’d like to blame your instructor? This was 100% your fault.
Mountain_Permission5@reddit (OP)
Thats exactly what i said if you read one sentence more
TheBuff66@reddit
If your CFI took good notes they should have a record of your flights together. When I instructed I remarked every flight as “Maneuvers - John S.” At the very least they’ll have most of your hours
Mountain_Permission5@reddit (OP)
Nope he just noted in the logbook
