Ford probe or mx6. Miata.
PreMixYZ@reddit
Miata Is Always The Answer
EffectiveSituation43@reddit
Came here to say it
Past-Option2702@reddit
My first new car was a Probe GT 5 speed.
I haven’t seen a Probe in the road in forever.
jrileyy229@reddit
You'll be happy to know there are a number of them running Lemons.
geardownson@reddit
I'll upvoter you just because my best friend in high school wanted a probe so bad.. lol
jrileyy229@reddit
Probe GT/mx6 is a genuinely good car. We beat this piss out of a probe GT in lemons for years long ago, it was a tank because it was mazda
geardownson@reddit
It just wasn't popular for most then.. the grand prix, gn, ta, or mustangs were boss.
I'm not said it wasn't a good car. I'm saying many people were ignorant to the times
nopester24@reddit
IROC Camaro
PreMixYZ@reddit
So close - 3rd Gen Formula is the correct answer (based entirely on looks of course).
nopester24@reddit
There was a time when I would've agreed with you, but I had an 87 trans am and those freaking headlight motors can fuck right off!! Never again. IROC
PreMixYZ@reddit
I had an 84 and a 89. The 84 was a daily/winter car. And I got good at hand winding and replacing solenoids.
nopester24@reddit
Ohhh man I dunno how you put up with that, especially in winter! No way man, after a couple of years of had enough. IROC. All of the style, none of the hassle
PreMixYZ@reddit
Never had an issue with the 89 Formula and I owned it from 1991 to 2015. Had 63,000 miles when I sold it for $5,000 :-(
nopester24@reddit
Aw man 5k??? Sorry bud that's rough. Mine was stolen . So yeah. Just gone forever
GoodolBen@reddit
Hard disagree. I've rebuilt several old F-bodies and my favorite is the 70-73 just because I love the front end.
funcentric@reddit
2016-2018 BMW i3. it's a love or hate kinda car. There's no in between.
Fragrant_Cookie6502@reddit
If you want to maintain a sporty, aggressive "tuner" look while gaining the ride height necessary to swallow potholes and curbs, look at the Lynk & Co 05.

Ashton-MD@reddit
We’re talking used or CPO? Probably a Jag, Volvo, Mustang, or perhaps an Alfa after depreciation has kicked the first owner in the teeth. Or some other variant of those sorts of cars. Say what you will, a Jaguar XK or F-Type is fantastically pretty, and as far as sedans go, the Volvo S90 was just elegant.
New and on the market? Basically the Mustang is your only hope — there’s a couple handsome SUVs around but I mean, given “average car money” and what that means in 2026, the Mustang is the prettiest thing in that sort of category right now.
Like, I do love me a Corvette as much as the next guy, and the C8 I have a special place in my heart for, but it is more aspirational than a Mustang.

GR86
Stellar looking car. Non car people occasionally mistake it for a Porsche.
DJScaryTerry@reddit
Not only is this an extremely subjective question, but you don't say any kind of maximum budget. A "normal person" can afford many things if they sacrifice other things.
Educational_War3055@reddit
it isn't subjective the most objectively good looking car is the 1971 Chevelle and I'm right.
i-like-boobies-69@reddit
The 71 Cuda would like to have a talk with you
rcheneyjr@reddit
The 70 is better than the 71
i-like-boobies-69@reddit
The AAR’s make a strong argument for the 70 as they are absolutely gorgeous, but I still prefer the ridiculous billboard stripe, the fender gills, and the cheese grater (painted body color) grills on the 71.
rcheneyjr@reddit
I’ll take either. My good friend had a ‘70 ‘cuda, 383, 4 spd. Lovely car
ten10thsdriver@reddit
I consider myself "normal" and I could afford a used higher mileage Porsche 911 if I made it a priority.
iHaveLotsofCats94@reddit
If I didn't own a home or have to buy groceries or pay any bills whatsoever, I could buy a pretty nice Ferrari
CafeRoaster@reddit
2003 BMW M3
Or maybe a Kia.
Or a 2002 NSX-R.
Or a Civic.
In all honesty though, the Accord Sport of from 2017 and on looks pretty spectacular. I also like the previous gen Camry XSE.
GezelligheidBoyz@reddit
This 2002 NSX-R is on sale for $970k athe moment and even with OP being vague, a 2002 NSX-R is mot by any means something a normal person can afford.
So youre wrong. Way wrong.
CafeRoaster@reddit
Why do you think I wrote, “in all honesty though…”
Y’all are some daft folks. 🤣
Autobacs-NSX@reddit
What normal person can afford this?
CafeRoaster@reddit
The parameters were extremely vague.
Autobacs-NSX@reddit
Are you a normal person? Can you afford one?
CafeRoaster@reddit
You should re-read my comment and look for keywords that suggest a certain tone.

You can get a working 90s 4-banger lotus esprit for anywhere between 30-40k. 15-20k in barely working condition. If you are handy, then the cost to maintain is more time than money

Toyota 4Runner, doesn't matter the year. Reliable vehicle that looks good even when compared to the "luxury" crossovers
schmiddc@reddit
They are great vehicles
But it doesn't really look that different than a Tacoma with a topper. I wouldn't call it beautiful
Puzzleheaded_Big6997@reddit
Maybe, but this post is also subjective as others have mentioned. For someone making max $60k/yr the 4Runner (or even the Tacoma) is one of the best bang-for-buck vehicles out there.
mistman23@reddit
Agree. I wanted a new one but couldn't bring myself to pay the Toyota Tax. Basically full MSRP.

I vote the VW GTI. My 2025 S trim was right around 30k when I got it last year (prices went up a bit for 2026 of course).
Looks great, still well equipped even as a base model, quick & fun to drive with the DSG transmission, practical, 35+ mpg if driven economically. Obviously MX costs are a bit more, but keep up with the scheduled maintenance and it’ll be reliable.
The 7.5 gen is the best looking in my opinion, but the 8.5 has climbed to 2nd place for me.
Cpolo88@reddit
I guess for under 20k, a lightly used frs/BRZ. 20 up to 40k, a 370z with its wide frame. Very nice car. Not interior wise. 40 and up is even better cause you have your lightly used boxsters or m3/m4
depstunts@reddit
Acura RSX if you can find it.

JonesBrosGarage@reddit
Lexus LC500, Used Aston Martin, Jaguar F-Type. Depends if you mean normal as in not stupid rich, or normal as in the average US citizen… for the average US citizen it’s the GT/GR86 imo
Sea-Foundation-449@reddit
Yeah $250k/yr is very far removed from any reasonable interpretation of the word “normal”
JonesBrosGarage@reddit
Still go to work every day, have to budget, have a mortgage and debt… it’s not wildly different from the average US household at all. $1m a year is further from normal. $100m a year is unfathomably not normal. A person making $250k is closer to homeless than to someone making $600k a year to put it into perspective. That’s why I said it’s subjective, it depends what you mean by normal.
Sea-Foundation-449@reddit
Ah, you know what, in terms of how one actually lives their life on a day-to-day basis, I think you’re right. Fair enough
JonesBrosGarage@reddit
Yeah it’s crazy how much money it takes to break out of our trap hahaha. Plenty of doctors making $3-500k still in the same trap as everyone else just with “less financial future stress.” You need ALOT to truly not live a “normal” life anymore, or to have been making good money and investing for decades.
Plus I figure someone making $250k can afford the same cars as someone making $80k in the context of OPs question.. it depends what “afford” means lol. If you make $80k and don’t care about anything car you can “afford” some pretty crazy and irresponsible cars

Get a used BMW E90 (2009-2012) & add aftermarket LED lights, or a BMW F10 (5-series) with the lighting package.
They have excellent body lines & and you can find clean, un-molested examples of each for under $15,000.

You have to figure the cost to own with those equally as much as cost to buy. Look up how much a brake job is on an rs6, even if you do it yourself.
cds4850@reddit
The purchase price is not a problem.

Since this is so vague, I'd say first or third gen Toyota MR2. They are "normal" people cars because they can be had for $20k or under, and maintenance will be relatively cheap. They also look striking; I'd say it fits the word "best."

You can get a Porsche Cayman 987 for right around 30K. They look pretty.
JP147@reddit
1970s Toyota Corolla Coupe

Well that would depend on what someone likes, what someone considers normal, and what someone could afford, right? This isn’t a question with an objective answer and it’s ridiculous to even ask it

Two year old Genesis SUV.

That combines the two ugliest types of cars: Hyundais and SUVs.

“Normal person”
Man just give us your budget and what youre looking for in a car.
ObviousAlias7@reddit
Highly subjective. What counts as a “normal person” what is their budget, and what if they don’t have the same taste as another normal person?
