When is the 10800x3d coming out
Fit-Translator-9798@reddit
imagine upgrading every year
gg06civicsi@reddit
I’m on AM4 just thinking of when to jump ship
venfare64@reddit
Might as well wait until AM6 imho, especially if you already have 5700X3D. >!unless you believe that jump ship to AM5 now is cheaper than waiting for AM6!<
greggm2000@reddit
AM6 will be 2030 or even 2031, with Zen 8. Some will wait that long, but most probably won't.
mca1169@reddit
2028
Vb_33@reddit
Sometime after Zen 6 launches for desktop which will probably be late this year or H1 2027.
tomchee@reddit
Its still fkn ddr5. Will help noone.
Ppl who may buy ryzen 7000 cant afford ddr5, and the ones who can afford ddr5 definitely want 9000s already. (Especially because even 9000 is not new anymore)
trackdaybruh@reddit
This is for people who already own a DDR5 system but want to upgrade
XN8DY8VBMU4E3DP4LXBT@reddit
Upgrade from what?
trackdaybruh@reddit
Any CPU with a performance that is below a 7700x3D
XN8DY8VBMU4E3DP4LXBT@reddit
For someone on a ddr5 system, that pretty much leaves the 7600/7700 no? Hardly an upgrade. At that point, just sell and go for a 5800X3D
trackdaybruh@reddit
7700, 7600, 7500, and also don't forget the Intel CPUs since they started using DDR5 since the 12th gen.
The x3d is a significant upgrade gaming wise from a lot of CPUs below it.
tomchee@reddit
im quite certain, that all those ppl that wanted x3d, from the CPU-s that you just mentioned, have already upgraded to atleast 7800x3d - available under $300 to begin with. They have had 3 years.
so no not even upgrade path is makes sense at this point.
Unless there are a handful naive stoneheads that were expecting 7700x3d at some point for under $200, which i garantee wont happen. (and never even been expected lol )
trackdaybruh@reddit
It definitely depends on the pricing for sure, but AMD apparently saw the market demand for this CPU so the only thing we can do is speculate how it will do until it's actually released
Microcenter still sells the 7800x3D + 32GB DDR5 + B650E motherboard bundle for $599.99, so this 7700x3D has to be significantly cheaper to make folks pick this over the 7800x3d.
tomchee@reddit
well i can agree on that one. They must make it a bargain.
ResponsibleTruck4717@reddit
Even when you can afford the prices are ridiculous high to the point I don't even want to pay it.

Tonkarz@reddit
This article doesn’t mention what socket this CPU uses? Was it written by AI?
kimi_rules@reddit
It's common knowledge, are you new here?
Middcore@reddit
It would be absolutely insane if it used anything but AM5 given the name.
tomchee@reddit
Let him off the hook. Dude must have been, grown up with intel :D
sully99999999@reddit
Missed the subtitle, eh?
The128thByte@reddit
I mean it’s pretty easy to figure out that if it’s a 7700x3D that it’ll use the same socket as 7700x. So, AM5.
Tonkarz@reddit
I already looked it up myself.
dustarma@reddit
what about making more 5700X3Ds
zeroibis@reddit
5950X3D time.
imaginary_num6er@reddit
5950X3D2 will be cooked
Loose_Skill6641@reddit
people are asking for GPUs so AMD: here is a new cpu
ExplodingFistz@reddit
They will do anything but bring back the 5700x3d
SoilMassive6850@reddit
Honestly I'm not sure who's in the market for a budget PC build at the moment outside of the used market (and likely DDR4).
I mean obviously it's just consumer psychology but I'd have a hard time justifying something like a 400€ 32GB DDR5 kit to pair with budget hardware while it would feel less painful if it was an extra 300€ on an already high end build.
gahlo@reddit
People lucky enough to live near a Microcenter and take advantage of the bundles to absorb the RAM bullshit. That's basically it.
DudethatCooks@reddit
There is no such thing as a budget PC at this moment with ram prices at what they are.
animeman59@reddit
That was his point.
specn0de@reddit
Cheapest I could build for my buddy recently without it being absolutely shit was about $1200
uncanny_mac@reddit
y'all are complaning but i'm actually intruegued...
Dr_Valen@reddit
The 7700x3d is still am5. People have been telling them what we need a new 5800x3d or 5700x3d but AMD seems to be allergic to making money man
TophxSmash@reddit
they have no reason to make DIY chips if it was about making money.
GenericUser1983@reddit
AMD has already announced that they will be releasing a special 5800x3d 10th anniversery (of socket Am4) edition soon.
jigsaw1024@reddit
It will be limited edition, which translates to either original MSRP or higher, and the stock will be limited so it won't last long and sell out at full price so they don't have to do any discounting down the line.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's a batch of 5800X3Ds that were kicking around in inventory that hadn't been packaged yet, and seeing the demand for AM4 still being fairly strong they decided to go this route to clear out and cash in on FOMO.
Dr_Valen@reddit
A 10th anniversary edition doesn’t get my hopes up it’ll be affordable ngl
IANVS@reddit
Gamers don't suffer from the lack of CPUs (yet), but GPUs. AMD punched a fist size hole in gamers' pocket and thinks it can patch it with a single staple...
Lumentum_LITE@reddit
Also, DDR5 is still through the roof, so just to run a CPU even if you already has it is gonna be painful AF
Frexxia@reddit
CPU pricing is the least problematic thing about current PC hardware
Loose_Skill6641@reddit
pitty the 7800x3d isn't going to render games at high fps cause we got no gpu amd
