Steering looser after hitting curb, what to do?

Was driving my 2010 Yaris TR and hit the curb on the left side at around 10-15mph (front left wheel), since then there is a bit of play in the steering wheel, most noticeably a dead zone in the middle of the wheel; its around a 1-3cm either way, but the wheels of the car seem to move when the steering wheel is turned, that said, there is play I want rid of.
Ive had other drivers of the family try my car and some say it drives fine while others say there's some play. No clunking we heard so cant be the tie rods or bolts or anything like that (i dont know much about cars ngl, but thats what a family member who does, said).
Had an alignment done as I thought that was the issue but it didn't fix anything.
Drove it for miles and miles, didn't fix anything, I tried resetting the inner computer's steering data thingy by turning the wheel completely right, and then left, shutting down the car, and turning it back on... nothing!
It seems to drive fine enough, just need to put a bit more effort I suppose into turns maybe? I just want it returned to how it was in all honesty.
Gonna get it looked at soon by a mechanic, but am being told by some people that there isnt much point.
I just wanna know y'alls thoughts on this because I am honestly so frustrated, it does drive fine enough, but it just isn't as responsive as it once was, and this darn play is driving me insane. What part of the car is likely affected?

Ideally the shop that did the alignment would have inspected for damage after you told them you hit something. Hopefully they don’t charge you again if you need to get something replaced.
The hard part is that anything between the wheel hub and the steering knuckle could be damaged. Unless something is obvious, you’re kind of stuck replacing piece by piece.
It’s also possible the alignment is a little off. I’m just barely knowledgable to be dangerous, so I won’t suggest what it is, but again, back to the alignment shop unless you’ve already done that.

It was likely always there, but to tighten everything up just refresh your suspension bushings

Old bushings cracked? Ball joint maybe?

from what ive read around, ive been thinking old bushings too, might be worth going into a local garage for a complete suspension shakedown methinks? i doubt ball joint, they make a clunking sound if broken no?

Are sure you're not looking for a problem that isnt there?
Take to a mechanic for a bit of piece of mind, but if they cant find anything you might be chasing your tail.

thats what my dad thinks I am doing lol, but my brother drove my car which is the same make as his and said there's play, and i drove his and yeahhh theres definitely a dead spot/zone in my steering. I'll try get it to a mechanic soon for piece of mind ty
