Lemonade Stands

When I was a kid, I had a lemonade stand with some neighborhood friends. I still think about the guy that that gave us a $20 and said keep the change. Friends and I took our profits and went to Pizza Hut feeling adultish at our first sit down meal with no adults. Dad asked how things went so I told him all the details. Same day, I also learned about tipping. Dad went to Pizza Hut, found the server, and made it right. I learned a LOT of lessons that day ❤️ Important ones. I still pay it forward at lemonade stands today.

Wait, your dad took the tip back from the Pizza Hut staff?

So, last year there was a small stand in our neighbourhood, a couple of very young men were there. I walked by on my way back from my walk and asked how much and one little man said $2, I said okay I'll have one. He goes to get a cup and realizes he doesn't have anymore disposable ones, so he runs into the house and comes back out with cups and mom happens to come out with him.
I start talking with mom about their vegetable garden. He's trying to get the plastic cups seperated and is having a hard time (those red plastic cups). Finally, he gets the cups apart and starts to pour the lemonade, well he's a small guy and the pitcher is a tad heavy and he's struggling to slow the flow and ends up filling it up so much that it spills over. He says, oh sorry! I said no worries little man and then mom says to him (name) that's too full how's he supposed to carry that and as soon as she said that he leans towards the cup and takes a big sip (enough that it's much lower now) and mom yells noooo (name) you can't do that that's his drink. I couldn't help myslef, I started laughing so hard because I totally understood he was solving the problem of a full cup.
It was the most innocent and efficient solution to a problem that it was hard not to love it. Mom was very apologetic and said I had no issues taking the cup, as I found his response lovingly pure and hilarious at the same time and so I grabbed the cup and walked home. I couldn't stop giggling to myself all the way home, it actually made my day.

Two kids were running a stand last weekend. They even stepped it up and had fresh fruit to mix in for unique flavors. You bet they got a $7 tip on a $3 cup. And it was delicious!

We often see kids with a lemonade stand outside yard sales, especially if it's a community yard sale event.

That is when I would set up a lemonade stand. When my mom would have a yard sale. Usually made decent money, always ended up getting spent on candy and baseball cards

Yeah I got some at a city wide yard sale and gave the kid coins and his mom had to count for him. I guess that’s not a needed skill any more!

Me and my siblings had a lemonade stand and we lived in the country off a gravel road. We hauled the wagon full of stuff down our 1/2 mile driveway. The only people who stopped were the neighbors on their four-wheelers or tractors.

I did a lot of lemonade stands as a kid - many times. Made good money too. Blew it on video games at 7-Eleven.

Kid in my neighborhood had a lemonade stand a couple years ago. She accepted BTC and ETH (crypto for the uninitiated). Times have changed.

I always stop, too. I remember sitting out in the hot sun for hours as cars drove by. And I remember the guy who screeched to a halt, said I just “saved his life,” downed 2-3 cups of lemonade, and gave me $10!

Kids had a lemonade stand set up a couple blocks from my house last summer and included a “fresh baked cookies!” sign, so the wife and I had to stop!
Turns out they were raising funds for a fellow student who needed some sort of help … so I bought stuff from them and then added a $50 tip after asking, “you are donating all the money to help your friend?” They said Yep. So BIIIG tip.

I grew up in Hawai'i, we used to have neighborhood shave ice stands. I remember just selling to other kids, so we never made any money, but it was so much fun.

I'd raid the orange tree, mulberry tree almond and walnut trees when in season and bag em and sell them so I had money for video games hotchips and a can of coke. I always support kids making money for themselves.
