A handgun for the old man.

Prefer shield plus but it’s fine

This is the first Smith and Wesson in our household, but I will definitely look into that. Thanks.

If it’s not for carry, I’d suggest going full size with the M&P9 M2.0 — but if it is for carry, shield plus is hard to beat

Shield plus for me and my channel;)

I recommend these a lot to people with hand strength issues at the gun counter who can't rack most slides. People hate on the grip safety but it's a decent shooter. A gun is better than no gun.

Its alright, shot one in 9mm.
Not a big fan of grip safeties, but the EZ line is still a good choice.

This was my wife's gift on Mother's Day and I completely agree with you. I am not a big fan on the grip safety, but the easy slide is much easier for her to rack.

Can I ask why people don’t like grip safeties? It’s like my favorite part of my 1911, lol

The EZ series is not really comparable to a 1911. The main focus is easy manipulation for people that have a harder time with standard handguns. And with that, more redundant safeties (trigger safety, internal safety, grip safety, and manual safety). I think they really wanted to cover everything for people who are not as comfortable with handguns, whether that’s mental or physical, this covers both.

I agree with that and I have shot 1911's, and I do enjoy them. I bought this for my wife for Mother's Day, who is a new shooter, and she tends to enjoy it quite a bit.

I think the EZ in 380 is perfect for a new shooter who might have a harder time manipulating a standard pistol. Plus, like I mentioned, the redundant safeties give peace of mind and lowers the risk of accidents as someone is learning. My wife ended up getting the Walther PDP f-series which is the same idea but without the safeties, much easier for her to manipulate than any of mine

One point is, say you're in a tussle with someone and need to use it, an incomplete grip will not allow the gun to shoot. On the other hand the bad guy gets it and doesn't have a good grip he can't use it on you. There was a story a while back of a cop with a 1911 where the perp got his gun and didn't disengage the safety and wasn't able to use it on him. Saved the cops life. Just train with what you have, know the ups and downsides of the features on your gun.

Maybe I just don't like it because it's new to me lol idk
