Nostradamus here... or at least that's how I'm feeling today... after the run on the stores here in Canada with Covid I said "never again". Although to be fair, the run on the grocery stores was fairly short duration. Still... freaked me out and I'm taking no chances. Today I've got a fully stocked basement pantry. Solar. EV. Home protection in place. Water source secure. Bunch of meds. I'm able to ride this one out. Whatever "this one" turns out to be (if anything).
TeaPrimary1147@reddit
Hm! Are you single and jab free by any chance? Lol
LankyGuitar6528@reddit
No and HELL NO.

Learning skills isn’t a replacement for an air ambulance. The air ambulance isn’t called unless there’s a life threatening condition that only a hospital can address.
Neon-Predator@reddit (OP)
It's good advice regardless.
nixstyx@reddit
Of course. I’m a former EMT, so I know the importance of skills. I just see zero connection between your title and the linked article.

You’re gonna really regret not watching more brain surgery Instagram reels tutorials once the apocalypse starts in a few months.
capitan_dipshit@reddit
Is trepanation considered brain surgery?
nixstyx@reddit
Hun, come hold the mirror, I can’t see which part of the temporal lobe I’m poking. … Wait, what was I doing?
BradBradley1@reddit
“Yeah, uh, look - I’m really sorry about the botched tumor removal. That said, given the unexpected lobotomy that I just performed, I don’t think Brad is even gonna notice if he wakes bake up.”
hera-fawcett@reddit
"... damn it. and right before cindy's coronary bypass. this is the worst day."
BradBradley1@reddit
Don’t worry about Cindy’s procedure that was scheduled for today. I guess you didn’t hear. She actually came in for a tooth cleaning last week and didn’t make it back out. I’m not the Shantytown dentist, so I wasn’t there, but I heard these types of things just happen from time to time.
Herefourfunnn@reddit
🤣🤣 another thing I have experienced except I have experienced that surgery twice. And I’ll tell you no self taught individual is getting near my skull with a drill
BradBradley1@reddit
… yet
Herefourfunnn@reddit
🤣 Oh god 🤔
No_Albatross7213@reddit
Yeah. If an air ambulance has to be called, you’re on death’s door.
JudgmentUnited5297@reddit
You'd be surprised at how many things go from casual/addressable problem to ambulance time. Learning skills and their appropriate safety measures is the difference between a nick and an amputation. Not to mention basic first aid that can prevent septic shock.
SunnySpot69@reddit
Prevention is the best thing we can do.
Drycabin1@reddit
Thank you.

I live on a wee Scottish island and the air ambulance in either helicopter or plane form is here at least 5 times a week, theres a "hospital" which the locals jokingly call the waiting room for the air ambulance, They have an "emergency department" staffed by nurses or sometimes a GP with an interest in surgical basics on a good day. It even has an x ray machine which is staffed by a radiographer from 9am to 5pm at most.
Not all air ambulances are for life threatening situations, even something as simple as a broken arm results in a wee flight here.
Herefourfunnn@reddit
I second this. I’m someone who has actually been airlifted in an emergency situation, and I know I never meet others who have. It’s a very rare occasion

The Epstein class is actively trying to kill us. We need to wake up and realize the class war stating us in the face.

Like the ones proposed in October 2021, May 2022, May 2023, May 2023, May 2024, and May 2025? For one day?
Who handles mutual aid for people out of work? Who makes the demands? Who provides legal assistance?

Currently working on a hospital based air ambulance in the states. Our fuel has gone up a ton (spent 1400 on a tank of Jet-A, used to be 750). The fueler at a major airport said they only have around 45 days of fuel left. We're buying a fuel contract for the first time to make sure we have stock.
PapayaMysterious6393@reddit
Having med preps and learning skills aren't really useful if you need air support though. We are better off preventing things, but sometimes, shit happens. I injured my ankle recently (not broken) but I'm non-weight bearing and have been out of work for weeks with weeks to go.
Obviously didn't need a helicopter, but there really is only so much we can do. If you're at the point of needing a helicopter, then you're pretty bad off and have extra bandages aren't going to help.
cplforlife@reddit
We normally keep our ambulances idling. Heat to keep the drugs from freezing in winter. AC to keep it from being a hot box in the summer incase the next patient is a heat casualty.
We're not idling ambulances anymore.
existing_for_fun@reddit
It's a shame they don't have a way to plug in while running the AC or Heat. Just draw from the grid.
Unusual_Specialist@reddit
In Arizona, we had a portable air conditioner connected to a Goal Zero Portable Power station to keep aircraft cool in the summer months without ground power or idling.
cplforlife@reddit
It exists when we get a base, which really hasn't been a thing much since covid.
I remember 6+ years ago when downtime was a thing.

Oh shit I didn't even think about Medevac helos w/r/t Jet-A. Cripes.

If i die I won't have to worry about not having retirement and suffering slowly. This world is too dystopian to want to live much longer in it.
