Looking for a good Magic the Gathering shop

Hi guys! I'm going to be traveling to DFW for work and would love to know if you know of any good MTG shops in the area.

If you're looking to play, Common Ground Games is probably your best bet. Tonight is commander night starting at 7 PM. The shop is great and extremely inviting. They also have a bit of a preliminary rule zero conversation with you at sign up and place you in a pod that matches your vibe, which goes a long way to helping sync up power levels. The play space is huge as well, which is a definite plus. There's a good chance I'll be there tonight haha.
If you're more so looking for singles, Boardwalk Games in Carrollton routinely has both the best stock and best pricing around, but it's all accessed via a kiosk for the most part. If you're wanting to flip through binders and dig through bulk (I love it), then Mystery TCG is the place. They typically have pretty solid stock, the prices are consistent with market value most of the time and they have bulk boxes selling at $0.50/card, but I've cut deals here and there before on cheaper stuff.
House Rules is cool, but given that it's generally more geared towards purely boardgames with some MTG sprinkled in, the drive from Irving wouldn't really be worth it.
Also, if you're closer to the Ft. Worth side of Irving, Eclipse Cards and Hobby is pretty solid shop with a nice selection, and further south towards FTW is Evolution, which also has a solid singles inventory.
For what it's worth, GameNerdz Mesquite also just got a small restock of Strixhaven Collectors Boosters if that's your speed at all and given they are a brick and mortar for the online retailer, they typically have pretty solid stock and very competitive pricing, though it's a bit of a trek for you in Irving.
Either way, hope you enjoy your time!

I'm gonna be there next Tuesday. Common Grounds seems to be the place to go lol. Based on the name, is it a cafe as well as card shop?

It’s Common Ground, no “s” on the end. It’s not a cafe. They used to sell snacks but I don’t think they do anymore. Taco Cabana and Whataburger are relatively close, but not walkable.

Cool. There was a place in Toledo, Ohio that was a coffee bar/game shop, so I thought it might be similar

Not sure how long you’re around but House Rules is walkable to 13 Barrels and they do Magic Mondays.

You weren't specific. DFW is bigger than the state of Conneticut. Here's a map of all the local game stores in the metroplex:

I did not realize that , I'm from ohio 😅 I'm staying in Irving, near dallas

I recommend Common Ground Games if you want to go into a shop and play some Magic. House Rules is cool but there's no table space.
Boardwalk Games in Carrolton is close and good as well.

DFW is huge. In Plano I like Zenith. A bit south of that I like boardwalk in Carrollton. South of that I like Common Grounds in Love Field.

House Rules in the Farmers Market downtown or the larger location in Bishop Arts.
