Feeling nostalgic for the icons of my childhood

Pour one out for the CT-114 Tutor Snowbirds, joining the likes of the Space Shuttle, Concorde, and Canadian 747s in the history books.

Kai Tak is so recognizable

Yeah, a little bit of Kai Tak nostalgia thrown in for those who are into it.

This has been one of my favourite photos ever since airliners.net was a thing.

They’re being replaced by some lame ass turboprop trainer also 🤮

One thing the liberals are good at, removing whatever sense of pride we had left in our military.
Ordinary_Degree_4213@reddit
100%…. Public servants are gonna fill the ranks apparently .. the ones to scared to go to the office are going to protect us lol
Fit_Definition1583@reddit
I think the ones who actually would protect have long realized this country is no longer worth fighting for. i really hope alberta gets the chance to escape this shit hole.
Ordinary_Degree_4213@reddit
Yes it’s okay for Quebec to cry separation for years while taking massive handouts … but not AB.. they have to finance the rest the country while the Federal Gov dumps regulations all over them 🙄🙄
Fit_Definition1583@reddit
yeah im sure the government knows they wont able to support lgbtq rice fields in vietnam if they lose their financier. When this country no longer works for it’s citizens you can’t be mad at the citizens when they finally say enough is enough.
Ordinary_Degree_4213@reddit
Well the west has no vote anyways … the amount of seats AB gets for its Pop. is a sham. Elections come down to Quebec and Ontario

The worst part is the timeframe, replacement won’t be fully online until early 2030. We may not get snowbirds in the next 5 years at least
The_Kobinsky@reddit
I'm definitely making a trip to an airshow this summer to see them one last time
SilentSpr@reddit
Yeah, going to CIAS no matter how bad the sun is
LuuDinhUSA@reddit
Canada has a lot of pride for that arm
gromm93@reddit
We noticed that you couldn't get the job done, but we'd already had a solution.
BarnyardCoral@reddit
I know, pretty cute, right?
LuuDinhUSA@reddit
🤣
Therealdickdangler@reddit
No SR-71!?
Distinct-Fig-4216@reddit
The Canadarm is still going strong on the ISS.
FailedCriticalSystem@reddit
It’s a new one right?
mfigroid@reddit
Stripped the shuttle for spare parts.
FailedCriticalSystem@reddit
Yeah but wasn’t the arm in place on iss while the shuttle was operational?
mfigroid@reddit
It was a joke.
Original_Media_6427@reddit
Oh Yes 🤩 The Concorde, the Queen of the Skies and the Space Shuttle My absolutely favourites ❤️
things_most_foul@reddit
Wardair has entered the chat too.
dubyat@reddit
Had the opportunity to see the Concorde up close at Oshkosh back in the 90's

My childhood started with the orange CP Air livery. Then they rebranded to the more modern blue version you have shown here.
Scouse_Papi@reddit
Those big orange, red and silver jets were the best.
Talwar3000@reddit
I just assumed the Tutor would still, somehow, be flying when I dropped dead from old age.
mMaple_syrup@reddit
Fun Fact: The CT-114 actually predates the Boeing 747 and the Space Shuttle, based on first flights (1960, 1969, and 1981).
