Learjet pilots - Have a question

Hey guys! I recently finished my type on the lear 31A. I wonder what app do you guys use to calculate performance and weight and balance data? Captain and I want to make it as accurate as possible!
Company bought ForeFlight for business so we wonder if that’s enough!
Thanks!

We just used a rule of thumb. I think adding 5 knots on the speeds for every 1,000 lbs or so. It's been a long time. But always just did it in our heads.
That being said, it's not like you can fly it that precise anyway. 132 knots? What's the difference between that and 135 knots? You can't even tell with the airspeed indicator.

South Florida 135?

Wow that’s a great way to die.

It’s been a while 31A had a simplified TOLD procedure in the QRH for runways longer than 5000’ below 5000msl and lower than 25° that was basically “use these speeds and send it”
Thing was redonkulously overwinged and overpowered.
I’m not advocating that, and would advise running a full runway analysis for every takeoff. But on that type it’s largely superfluous.

Using published simplified data is completely fine and totally valid.
Add 5 knots and “fuck it, needle’s wide anyway” is not.

It's pretty easy to die in any lear if you don't know what you're doing.

APG

APG/iPreFlight is a staple in corporate aviation for a reason. We used it daily for weight and balance, runway analysis, OEI departure procedures, etc. and it was invaluable, but be warned that the app isn't the most user-friendly.
Enjoy the 31A! It was my first type rating and I still miss that little rocket ship.

If it fits, it ships.

ForeFlight Runway Analysis is not available for the 31A. You want APG.

Do both by hand and compare the results to what you get with ForeFlight. Work with your boss!
