Hey guys quick question

For background I got a call on May 7th from the recruiter at us foods (near me) and they said they had a non CDL driver position opening up and noticed I was interested in it. They originally wanted to meet with me that day but I was currently out of the area and doing other things, but applied as soon as it posted and got an interview scheduled. Once I came in for the interview, it went well and they took pics of my license and dot physical, and ran out of time to do the road test as they had a meeting. Fast forward to a few days later and I got this email, I immediately asked for clarification from the recruitment manager who is on vacation, on whether workday may have automatically rejected my application through they’re internally ai system, and he stated to me that they’re still considering applicants, so my question is what is the possibility of him calling me back and me potentially getting hired for this position? I figured since they took pictures of my dot and license they were starting a background check on me. I currently have experience with food service at Frito lay, driving trucks with air brakes up to 40 ft, with an overall experience of 4 years working at FedEx and UPS

They didn’t like you for some reason and made up the excuse of a meeting. Happens to everyone at some point.

When I was being interviewed there was an upper management fellow who opened the door and told the recruiter that they were having a meeting soon. I think it was a legit one.
Ok_Bug_6470@reddit
So, you’ve never been the hiring guy. Good to know. Thats a nice, homie.
Socketz11@reddit
Why are they asking for a DOT physical when its a Non-CDL job?
Emergency_Ad1152@reddit
Anything over 10k lbs you need a DOT card.
Socketz11@reddit
Ahh, I never knew that. I thought it was for a CDL gig only. 35+ years and still learning.
snieves0426@reddit (OP)
They do for every job in my state when it comes to non cdl. I had to do it for UPS, FedEx, and Frito as well. I have a current DOT card, so I have them that
Ok_Weekend6350@reddit
your fat they just don't want to say it
snieves0426@reddit (OP)
🤣 that’s funny lol
Ok_Weekend6350@reddit
I'm serious you wont get a food service job being fat
go to DG fleet if you want to do physical work, but it's dangerous with the crack heads and customers and odd locations to back into
Aphme@reddit
I’m fat, no food service experience. Just got hired
Ok_Weekend6350@reddit
not for long
snieves0426@reddit (OP)
I’m not fat lol
Ok_Weekend6350@reddit
you haven't seen your penis since 2014
snieves0426@reddit (OP)
I definitely have lol, I can see it right now as I speak while I’m pissing
Im_Grinning@reddit
Wtf is this interaction lmao
snieves0426@reddit (OP)
It’s insane lol, I think he thought I was fat cause I originally put dot physical in that paragraph above but I meant dot card lol.

Just FYI buddy this is a non cdl position. Youll make $2-$3 less an hour. You'll be running a non lift gate box truck in what ever your biggest metro area is. And you won't be running log books like thw rest of the drivers so you'll be forced into long days.
If you have a cdl and really wanna work at US Foods apply for a CDL position
snieves0426@reddit (OP)
That’s fine with me. At FedEx I was doing 14 hrs for 1.50$ a stop, and that was complete bullshit regarding the pay! I do want this as I see it’s a stepping stone and I don’t mind the ot
DangerDane90@reddit
Right on brother! Honestly even if they did "reject" you it probably means they just hired someone else.
My location is pretty much always hiring no just keep applying.
slyguy929229@reddit
Good luck these cock suckers like to post ghost jobs and never hire anyone. I’ve tried every food service group within 100 miles and it’s always the same shit.
They’ll take the job down then repost 6 months later. US foods performance foods Springfield grocery co can all suck my fucking balls. Will hire guys who couldn’t piss clean to save their life but a guy with 780k miles and 6 years at one company with ZERO accidents (I have been hit twice while LEGALLY parked) and ZERO tickets, failed drug tests or failed inspections.
Yes I’m bitter.
DrillTheThirdHole@reddit
looking back through your posts, it seems like you've got a lot of different feelers out on driver-type jobs for at least the last 9 months. when did you get your cdl? whats your work history like?
snieves0426@reddit (OP)
1 year medical courier, 3 years FedEx ground, 7 months UPS Casual (seasonal driver) and 8 months at Frito currently. Only reason why I want to leave Frito is because they’re extremely anti union, and our facility tried to unionize and since the company successfully beat the union, they’ve been on drivers ass’s about time card, and being “efficient”
Ok_Bug_6470@reddit
Yeh so non union places do not like pro union drivers. And no one wants to hire anyone if they speak negatively about a former employer. No matter the circumstances, bc you’ll badmouth them.
snieves0426@reddit (OP)
I haven’t badmouthed during the interview. I just said that reaching my long term goals would take too long at my current job and I wanted an opportunity where I could reach my goals faster. They seemed to like that answer
DrillTheThirdHole@reddit
you might just be running up against the fact that a mixed union/non-union market is going to have the union shops be much pickier about who and how many they hire, since their compensation packages will be a lot better. give that recruiter a call back, and work on getting your CDL. it's a lot easier to get union jobs in unionized states with one, especially if you're already acclimated to the p&d work.
trucksarekewl@reddit
Consider yourself lucky. Foodservice is ass anyway
NipponLife@reddit
You’re*
Exciting-Car-3516@reddit
I think you should ask them not here.
chocolate_asshole@reddit
they’re prob just slow rolling it, keep following up weekly. hiring moves like molasses now, everything drags
snieves0426@reddit (OP)
Thanks for the response. Appreciate it. I also need to use the rest of my PTO and sick time at my current job so I wanted to try and figure out a timeline so I can use it before being potentially hired, or when I receive the job offer
hugothebear@reddit
Theyre still considering applicants, but are they considering your application?
snieves0426@reddit (OP)
Exactly my question. I’m gonna give him a week and then call the recruiter back to check the status, cause like I said I don’t know if it was a workday auto reject or whatever
