Can I use the stacked aluminum can strips as copper replacement for the VRAM and other heat sources in my GPU?

I have many cans and much thermal paste to put in between, but I wonder if a decent replacement for my copper shims I gave my little brother to successfully lower his A750, thanks for any input in advance

Aluminum cans are epoxy-coated, which unfortunately hugely reduces thermal transfer.
