Can't decide between a 9070XT and 5070(non TI)

Hello there dear Redittors
I've been thinking about saving enough money for a new PC Build, but for a GPU I cant decide between a 9070XT and 5070(non TI). I'm thinking about pairing them with a Ryzen 7 9700X and 32gigs of DDR5. Where i live there is about a 30-50euro difference between the 2 cards, with the 9070xt being around 700 and the 5070 around 660. I don't include the 5070TI in the decision because its around 1000 euros.
I'm mostly planning to use it for casual gaming with new titles, some word of warcraft and occasional Indie and Friend slop games. I will also have to use it for some creative work like modelling with AutoCAD for Uni and maybe blender for myself.
Currently i'm playing on a 3050 Laptop, but if i start anything demanding i feel like it can burn my fingers lol. And i want to keep this laptop more as a work and study device.
If you've read it, ty and i'm happy if you answer, if you're speaking from experience that is also a big plus for me.

It really depends on how intensive the blender work is as nvidia reigns supreme with the 9070xt being like a 5060 mobile performance wise but with more vram. I can't imagine that undergrad uni cad will stress out a 9070xt at all tbh and it's definitely the better pick for gaming.

9070xt all day everyday. The only significant difference would be 5090 but the price of that thing is just stiupid.

9070xt easy. Even if the comparison was 9070 vs 5070 I would take the 9070 for 16gb vram and lower price.

5070 vs 9070 is a hard choice, due to DLSS4.
5070 vs 9070XT is an easy choice, always 9070XT
zensentsu@reddit
for any CAD and 3d modeling/texturing nvidia is better due to cuda. for pure gaming, the XT will always beat the 5070 unless youre running realtime pathtracing

The non-XT 9070 is a better card than the 5070. And a damn site more efficient than eitherĀ

CAD and blender may cause you to save the $40 and get the 5070. You may want to look into intel as well.

Blender ? Then 5070. In case you also want to tinker something with AI generative and something similar.
If you just want to game then 9070XT no contest.

In my opinion paying extra for the 9070xt is the right call. Although it doesn't have the DLSS features of nvidia, FSR 4 is a really strong contender. It doesn't have any too large artifacts that ruin the experience. I think in the long run you'll be happy with have spent a mere 50 euro more for a decently better card.

Even me going from the 5070 to the 9070 (non-xt) recently I can 100% agree with this. FSR works well enough and the extra vram and raster horsepower is well worth the small cost increase. In most games I saw a 10-20% FPS increase, the XT version is going to be even more of a boost.

The thing is 9070xt is a much better card and 5070 shouldn't be priced like that so it's hard to justify tho for your user case I think both are overkill and a 5060ti should be good enough
