We have a bunch of these in Canada. Very durable guns if a bit heavy. People call them Eh-Ks because we can't have real AK-47s. They are currently in the process of being banned.

The liberals are so mean

Man PSA really needs to make a clone of the type 81!

No joke,a decent Type 81 clone would probably sell fast. It’s one of the few Chinese rifles that actually has a cult following.

PSA can't make an AK right despite all available knowledge a plenty of great AK builders in USA
PSA 81s would probably have reputation of type 63s in China
Most dangerous thing to Chinese soldier was his type 63 rifle
bren97122@reddit
What went wrong with the Type 63?
TURBOWyMiaTaToR@reddit
Ohh boy it's a story
Chinese designed great rifle type 63, part AK part SKS better than both
Then came change in government and intellectual peaple ware completely outlawed
Factory workers without any engineering knowledge started to "upgrade" production process to make rifle cheaper and faster to make
One of this upgrades was change from milled accurate and stiff receiver to multiple part stamp sheet metal one
Off course guns weren't designed for riveter multipiece receiver so after a while guns started blowing up and shooting their bolts(similar in size to SKS) in to shooter faces
Check" type 56: the story of china army" channel on YT for more details, shit is ridiculous

Sort of correct, the state required 600.000 rifles per year while Factory 296 couldn't deliver. That's why they tried simplifying the design so much.

So the Cultural Revolution then?
