Which Balkan country is the worst to have as a neighbor?

Not "has been the worst neighbor historically" but is the worst to have as a neighbor right now.

Albania for sure.
pitogyros@reddit
not even close , last major tensions with Albanians were nearly 100 years ago , in our case they are chill neighbours
xr3dxi@reddit
Ah so stuff happened 100 years before is fine w you guys. Didnt really seem like it but alright
ChocolateAddictions@reddit
100 years? Albania wasn’t even around 100 years ago
xr3dxi@reddit
I was talking about something else lmao. If u have an issue about albania not being a thing 100 years ago then Im not the one u should reply to
ChocolateAddictions@reddit
I’m indifferent lol
ChocolateAddictions@reddit
Keep dreaming
pitogyros@reddit
You have a country literally claiming your lands at official level every week , threatening with invasions and bombings once a while and your main concern as worse neighbour is Albania ? What for ? Some rude YouTube comments ?
ChocolateAddictions@reddit
Ummm, this comment can’t be real
EmptyBrilliant6725@reddit
Wtf albania do
ChocolateAddictions@reddit
A lot of things.
True-Blacksmith4235@reddit
Girl, why are they bothering you, lol you said something crazy 😭
ChocolateAddictions@reddit
I have no idea lmao.

Not gift more land to Greece.
bebilov@reddit
As an Albanian I’d say all of them apart from Kosovo. We don’t have an issue with them but they do with us for some reason.
Macedonia really is just racists, like that bully that hates you for no reason.
Montenegro is a Serbian vasal state basically, they just do whatever Serbia tells them to do .
Greece is always trying to poach our land and our sea territory like, having expansionary plans in 2026 is wild imo.
At least Italy on the other part of the sea is semi decent.
pitogyros@reddit
Nobody tries to grab your sea lol
Greece and Albania tried to figure it out on their own , don’t work out and they decided to solve it at international court without any drama or fighting , it was agreed that it would be the best way.
bebilov@reddit
What’s there to figure out bro. The sea in front of our land is ours. That’s how it works. It’s always an issue instigated by you guys never by us.
pitogyros@reddit
If that’s the case you ll win the case then , nothing to worry about.
The case however is not as simple you present it.
In any case both Greece and Albania agreed to solve it based on international law agreement that both countries have signed , it can’t be more fair than that.

Your economy would collapse if Serbs stopped buying Guchi perfumes from you.

yes. Serbian tourism will collapse if Bulgarian stopped visiting Nis and Belgrade for Srbska Skara

Turkey. You just know there will be some Turkish Putin some years in the future and they gonna try some shit.
xr3dxi@reddit
The worst turkish putin u could have is currently the president. Dont sweat it too much expecting turkey to invade you or greece. We r barely holding on economically. Whenever erdogan is throwing threatens it is mostly for the votes and nothing else
Poglavnik_Majmuna01@reddit
Serbia definitely. It is both a poor neighbour and one that tries to drag you down into poverty with them.
geizige-vorhaut2289@reddit
Advantage for you at least you can go partying to Belgrade for relatively cheap. Probably not even that since Covid and inflation
JumpApprehensive9949@reddit
Poglavnik_Majmuna01@reddit
To be fair this doesn’t apply to you guys, you’re even poorer than them.
JumpApprehensive9949@reddit
Oh wow and look at this Croatian- Serbian yogo nostalgia bullshit
AdvancedAd3228@reddit
Worst neighbour of Serbia is Slovenia!
But they don't share the border!
Not for now they don't.
Pantolonun_Utulusu@reddit
All balkan countries are good neighbours. Try being neighbours with Russia, Iraq, Iran or Syria.
BoringKick5331@reddit (OP)
How is Syria as a neighbor now as compared to a few years ago?
Pantolonun_Utulusu@reddit
The problem is not the Syrian people, or the land itself. The problem is the instability of the country; now it is OK but we still have a few millions of immigrants, and who knows what will happen in a few months?
InformationTop3437@reddit
Damn, this one is tricky... I really like my neighbors and I wouldn't trade them for anything.
LifeAcanthopterygii6@reddit
What about us?
ThingCandid9553@reddit
I’ve been to Budapest a bunch of times, and I’ve never had a bad experience with Hungarians. Sure, we’ve had our differences and wars in the past, but that all feels like ancient history to me.
InformationTop3437@reddit
You know those legends that go around Harghita and Covasna, that you can't buy a bread there if you talk romanian? Well, been there many, many times, and it never happened to me. :))
InformationTop3437@reddit
Visited like... 4 times, I love Hungary. And people were really nice, even after finding out I was romanian :)))
ThingCandid9553@reddit
Same here
InformationTop3437@reddit
Which confirms my theory that if you are a nice person, people will always be nice to you. :D
InformationTop3437@reddit
And I wanna add that Hungary has lots of hidden gems, it's really underrated. I've seen so many wonderful places and I definitely wanna visit again.
Must visit places: Tihany, Visegrad, Eger. I've heard of a national park i wanna visit and i wanna spend more time around the Balaton lake. Budapest i already saw twice, but Hungary is so much more than that. And I've been to the Sziget festival twice.
Szeretlek!!

The people are all good in each and every country. Everywhere I visited they were friendly and they let me no space to think of someone as a "worst country to have as a neighbour". With all that said, Serbia.
dwartbg9@reddit
Well Serbia is a fucking dictatorship, with very strong ties to China and Russia currently. Not part of NATO and has a very "anti-EU" oriented stance.
So it's obviously the most logical answer. People may be nice, and against the dictator but this doesn't change much if shit hits the fan and he decides to do something bad.
Odd-Organization-740@reddit
But they have good highways and the best connection to Germany 😛
Meanwhile travelling to Romania is a shitshow. One bridge in the middle of nowhere, one shitty old broken bridge in constant repair, and a bunch of ferries that charge a lot and go whenever they feel like it. Also we're in Schengen, but they still search cars and question people. Also our retail parks are becoming full of scammers of "Romanian" origin. (many examples https://www.dunavmost.com/novini/rumanski-izmamnitsi-obikalyat-magazinite-v-ruse).
And psycho RO drivers are a constant danger on Bulgarian roads.
Sorry Romanian bros, but the title goes to you right now.

Greece because they always prioritise land expansions. Targeting to grab lands from neighbours. Nothing to do with regular Greek people. More of a political agenda of the country

What a rage-bait question! Serbia! The chances of dying if you're non-orthodox have been really high over the past.
Streptomicin@reddit
That's not what is really happening here.
ivan_the_gr@reddit
Believe me that has nothing to do with religion, that has to do with the politicians, the Orthodox Church also, not the institutions, just the people who run these institutions. Don’t you it’s all a power game, and the people believe it to be the reality, they are wrong, cause we are doing exactly what the government wants us to do. I don’t think Serbs and Serbia are aggressive, it’s the people who run these institutions. Brainwashed and dumb, they want us like that…. Please don’t do them the favour.
