Company denied my dog for pet rider.

I have a 30lb mutt. Can hardly tell what breed she is but she looks mostly like a collie type dog. On her vaccination paperwork it says “German pinscher” which was a shot in the dark from the original adopter. She’s not aggressive at all and actually very submissive. I’m currently in orientation and they denied her just because the “pinscher” on her vaccination paperwork. Stating Doberman pinschers are strictly prohibited. I find it kinda ridiculous as German Pinscher and Doberman Pinscher are completely different breeds. I’m considering making her a service dog and going directly to HR to see if they would make an exception. My last company didn’t make a fuss and I had her on the truck with me for a year with no issues. I don’t really have many options right now and I have family that will only care for her temporarily. Any advice? I’d rather not have to find another company but if that’s worst case I guess I’ll have to.

Make her a service dog and there is zero they can do. She's not even considered a pet anymore. Federally protected.

If you have a year experience and are looking to do OTR either van or hopper lmk. Our company don’t have limits on breed or weight. Your new company sound like a bunch of whiners.

You don't just make a dog into a service animal. This takes months of training to be done correctly. People are abusing this which is why there's been so much feedback about it on the news and other forums. If you want your dog to travel with you, go to another vet that doesn't have the dogs records and get setup there. Or see if your vet can update the breed on the records and reissue them with the corrected information.

They did say they could do that. I asked my company if I could reapply and they said as long as the vaccination paperwork doesn’t have any of the unapproved breeds I should be ok.

Yeah, service animals can't be turned away. I have two small dogs, one is trained to alert to my wife's diabetes, the other one cost us a $400 deposit and $50 a month in pet fees for the apartment we rented. That second one is about to undergo a rigorous training course as soon as I can afford it, lmao
