The American version was still filmed in America, but you're correct that all international versions were filmed in the same course, with Hammond being filmed on a green screen somewhere in the UK.
I still remember watching the first time someone cleared them on the night it aired. That's one of three main things I remember from that show.
The other two are "Kamicaze" Sam, Hammond gave her that nickname because she fell off every single obstacle in the Qualifier but had the fastest time for it that episode, and a Turkish man who kept grabbing at his crotch during the interview segments, with a "honk" sound effect added every time.
I miss the sarcasm. As a practicing sarcastic twat i appreciated him. I didn’t realise I missed this show until I watched this clip. Also that Irish bird was pretty for so that was nice

Were the British Wipeout big balls easier than the American ones? I can’t remember anyone ever finishing those over here
TinDumbass@reddit
I couldn't tell you for sure but I can tell you all versions of Total Wipeout were filmed on the same course in Argentina.

Just think of the untold suffering of millions

Untold suffering to millions? The viewing figures aren't that high surely
Hassaan18@reddit (OP)
It got 8 million viewers at its absolute height. In 2010 though, so it was probably third tier.
gav24601@reddit
It was a quote from top gear, when Hammond out an advert for it on the side of his car
Grouchy-Cream-5251@reddit
I like that Irish lady presenter, where is she now I wonder?
Hassaan18@reddit (OP)
Amanda Byram. She doesn't do much telly now but she did the Irish version of Dancing with the Stars for a while and Channel 4's Food Unwrapped.
Grouchy-Cream-5251@reddit
Shame, she seemed like a nice person. Thanks for the info

Impressive, very nice. Let's see Paul Allen's big red balls
