It'll be for my little brother he's 15
Showed me alot of those moped style chinese ones that go for 700-900 bucks we think we'll prioritize company support and an established US brand
Also what about the legal aspects of these bikes and if u have a better suggestion in the similar price range

A lot of people who are commenting just hate fun, they want everyone to have some lame step thru Lectron or something. Chinese bikes are generally hit or miss but they are usually miss. They have crap qa/qc and cheap parts. Legality doesnt really matter, but generally over 750w is illegal but cops only really care if it's got pedals. A lot of these fat tire e bikes kind of suck, especially the chinese ones. If you really need pedals then get a macfox but if you don't really care, a yozma or tuttio would be fine as they are in that general price range. My advice would just be to stay away from hub motors. Chinese mid drives arent bad.

I'd probably go with something like a Happyrun G60 Pro, G70, or G52. All pretty weak but enough to have fun. No where near enough power to wheelie or get all zoomy, so these options would force him to go slow. Great for riding around the neighborhood or getting to school. Happyrun also has really good customer service and has typically shipped pretty good quality products, I've got several thousand miles on a couple different models of ebikes by them.

None of these are legal for riding anywhere except private land and enclosed motorcross courses. Giving a child (not yet 18) access to one opens you up to liability when they invariably hurt someone while riding it illegally.
