ULPT: New HVAC

I purchased a home about a year ago but there were a few things the seller would not fix or replace. I've taken care of most but the AC unit outside is obviously on its last legs at 30 years old.
To mitigate this I also bought a 1 year home owners warranty for $1000. While I'm likely going to renew it, part of me can't help but wonder what sort of ULPT might make it fail sooner rather than later without showing signs of tampering.

Should check every detail of that warranty. They may not cover end of life equipment

You should cover the unit, and forget to take the cover off. Then run it until it breaks and remove the cover
