I want to find a PC for school and gaming, but I’m a dum-dum, where do I start??

Hi!! I’m starting uni in the fall and wanted to create a setup that works nice for general school work, while also having a place to play video games. I’m 19 and have never had a PC. As a girl growing up my friends never really played video games, and I have no one to ask for help. I got a switch to play animal crossing lol but have gotten obsessed with other games that aren’t to easy to play on a switch with the controller. I’ve also played games on my Mac laptop however obviously that’s not very ideal. I literally have no idea where to start too. I want something that’s relatively affordable but also like doesn’t take a lot of work? I don’t know if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be so incredibly helpful!! Thank you so much!

What is on your near-future playlist?
There is a way to take a system made "obsolete" by the Win10 EOL and turn it into a STEAM MACHINE interpretation build...at a lower reasonable cost.

Buy a prebuilt. If you're moving away for college, get a reasonably cheap laptop. And take it from experience, don't skip class to game.

U should try to come with a budget of how much u willing to spend.
Also deppens if u wanna build it or self or buy a prebuild or have some company do it.

Are you looking to build it yourself? And by affordable do you mean just a machine that can handle basic gaming well enough (not trying to achieve anything high end)? Do you need monitor/mouse/keyboard included?
