29/50 Unrelenting positivity on my mind. The great state of Georgia. š¬šŖ

This is our newest unrelenting positivity post.
The state in question is the great state of Georgia.
To all our foreign friends give a shout ask questions send praise. To our Americans do the same.
Ask questions, share stories, make jokes. Just remember not to be a jerk.
Recall the famous phrase my grandma invented āif you donāt have anything nice to say donāt say anything that isnāt redemptively funny.ā
Stay tuned for 30/50 after this one.
The states are in random order based on my whim at the moment. Todayās whim is a friend down there kicking cancerās ass. Fuck cancer, no positivity for it.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is lovely to walk through when in bloom
BeigePhilip@reddit
I proposed to my wife there

georgia's dope! food scene is wild, like have yāall tried the fried chicken? lol and the peaches are so good⦠canāt wait for the next one!
brightblueinky@reddit
Atlanta has the nicest airport I've ever been to. I was flying home after living in India for a few months and I remember sitting in a white wooden rocking chair while a man was playing live piano and it was so peaceful. Amazing way to spend time in between flights.
ZonaWildcats23@reddit
Youāve gotta be kidding me lol. Atl airport is an absolute shitshow
brightblueinky@reddit
Well this was in 1999, I think, so it's possible it's totally different now. Or that maybe my memory is wrong?
ZonaWildcats23@reddit
Itās one of the busiest, shittiest airports in the country by a long shot
slipperyDSS@reddit
Drove through and surprisingly nice scenery in the northern half :) also Atlanta's skyline was cool and the traffic was surprisingly not as bad as I expected
ConfidentFuel885@reddit
Bro, youāre the first person to ever say that about the traffic lol. Glad you enjoyed the drive though. North Georgia is beautiful.Ā
cornlip@reddit
What? Itās awful. I love North GA, though. Braselton and Helen for the win (cause of Road Atlanta and the car scene at Helen and the general area).
slipperyDSS@reddit
I think I just got lucky, because i have a friend from there and he told me good luck
hibbledyhey@reddit
Stacey Abrams is from there

Just got back from my first trip to Georgia. We spent time in Atlanta and Savannah. The botanical gardens in Atlanta was very beautiful and Savannah was incredible. I could legit see myself moving there
Dawgs919@reddit
Home sweet home. I love how thereās always something new to do here. We get all four seasons, and tons of natural and cultural diversity.
claudiatiedemann@reddit
I live in North Georgia within walking distance of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. So many beautiful parks in this area! To the north weāve got the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian Trail. To the southeast we have beaches. Atlanta has the highest elevation of any major city east of the Mississippi and is nicknamed āCity in a Forestā because it has one of the most extensive urban tree canopies in the U.S. We also have many historic sites here, the most famous probably being Savannah. All around a beautiful state with many things to see and do.
jakerooni@reddit
I hear they have the only captive Whale Shark at the Atlanta Aquarium. I hate it but I love it.
DOMSdeluise@reddit
Moving to Georgia in a week lol
Super_Casual@reddit
Thatās the flag of Georgia the country
upvoter222@reddit
The state's flag does not belong in a thread where people are supposed to keep a positive attitude.

My hometown of Columbus is the origin of Coca Cola, RC Cola and the birthplace of Eugenia Dukes - of Dukes Mayo. Weāre Georgiaās āquietā
City - but weāve gotten some recent attention thanks to the best selling novel Theo of Golden. Weāre on the banks of the Chattahoochee and short drive to Atlanta or the gulf coast.
Okra-Tomatoes@reddit
The coast isn't really beach-like, but Jekyll Island has a lot of natural beauty.
Wawhi180@reddit
Home to the first US gold rush (yes even before California!) in the town of Dahlonega.
We grow lots of peaches, peanuts, pecans, cotton, and blueberries! Oh, and trees.....lots of pine tree plantations.
Yoshimiyum@reddit
The whole state is just gorgeous. Even the small towns. Lots of really beautiful vegetation and greenery. Pretty decent beaches from what Iāve seen, too!

I went on a trip to Savannah on very short notice recently, and it ended up being an amazing time. Managed to find an affordable hotel in a cool part of town, lots of great bars and restaurants, the historic downtown is beautiful, and everywhere I went had great vibes. Would highly recommend it if you're within a couple hours drive.

Coca-Cola comes from Georgia.
We thank thee.
gofindyour@reddit
Love me some coke

When you have a man insane enough to fight against the union, get injured, get addicted to morphine, and come up with the idea to get off morphine by making caffeinated cocaine wine, then turn it into the largest international beverage company by scamming the US government in WWII⦠well I guess thatās just standard behavior for a Georgian.
ElijahNSRose@reddit
Well, the original recipe had cocaine.
CupBeEmpty@reddit (OP)
True. Drink enough caffeinated cocaine wine and you may come up with some wild ideas.

I love my home state. I love her geography, I love her big city. I love her small towns. I love her mountains, her piedmont, her coastal plains. I love her manufactured lakes, I love her forests and woodlands. I love her beaches.
I love her history and her people. I love the city-dwellers and the country boys. I love the EVs and the pickup trucks. I love waffle house and coca-cola. I love the sports teams. I love the nascar races. I love and miss Georgia Southern.
Ain't no place else like Georgia.
SportTheFoole@reddit
I miss my home state! Lots of beautify scenery, Atlanta kicks ass, the people are friendly, and there is so much good food to be had. Oh, and a great place to be the devil in a fiddle contest!
CupBeEmpty@reddit (OP)
Not great to be the Devil.
MyUsername2459@reddit
Uh. . .as a FYI, you used the flag for Georgia the country, not Georgia the US State.

- DragonCon in Atlanta
- Great peaches!!
- ATL is the airport I've been in the most in my life between work and vacations. It's practically my "home" hub airport. I know every square inch of the terminals at this point (minus the employee-only spaces)
- Many awesome TV series and movies have been filmed in Georgia
- CocaCola HQ'd there
- That giant-freaking tall Marriott Marquis hotel in Atlanta. The place is mesmerizing

I highly recommend the Georgia Aquarium; very glad I paid it a visit while I was in Atlanta.
