Word is Dodge Neons are cool now?

The day I took a deposit on my loyal cheap time attack car, I got a text from someone I hadn't spoken to in 14 years...asking if I wanted to buy my first car back from them!
This Gen 2 ACR went to SCCA Runoffs in "Showroom Stock C" in 2010. The class was pretty restrictive - stock suspension, affordable FWD cars on good tires and full weight. Think Celicas, EM1s, Integras...and Neons!
The American Club Race package was a rare, no-frills package by Dodge specifically targeting SSC class. The Neons did really well - factory adjustable suspension, fully independent rear suspension, and a tolerable 150hp in a paperweight chassis made them strong competitors.
I bought the car when I was 14, and sold it when I was 15 to the individual who had originally raced the car. He autocrossed it a bit over the last 14 years and sold it back to me, 3000 miles richer.
Going through it now and prepping it to get back on track with some modernities tossed in! Cool to hang out with an old friend again.

They always were cool cars for the day… can’t believe the Caliber ( or whatever it was) replaced it. That car was trash….

Oh man this brings back memories from 2gn.org. I had swapped that r/t “magnum” engine into my SE. Those secondary intake butterflies were so cool.
