Those are the infamous cumulogranite cloud formations. You typically want to avoid those when flying.

It’s the only airport in a national park in the country!

Oh really!?! Cool!

Grand Canyon?

Despite its official name being Grand Canyon National Park Airport (GCN), it is actually located outside the national park boundary. It is a classic naming convention trick—much like Gustavus, the name is purely a reflection of the destination it serves. Where is it actually? The airport is located in Tusayan, Arizona, which is an unincorporated community just south of the park. • It sits roughly 2 miles south of the official South Entrance Station of the park.

Gustavus airport is surrounded by glacier Bay national park.

I think the caveat I heard at the airport was “with commercial jet service”

Commercial jets land in Gustavus on the summer

Gustavus Airport (GST) is a classic "so close, yet so legally far" situation. It serves as the main aviation gateway to Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Alaska, but it is actually located outside the park boundaries. The airport sits within the small, isolated town of Gustavus. The official Glacier Bay National Park boundary is about 6 road miles away from the airport, and the actual park headquarters at Bartlett Cove is roughly 10 miles away.

I'm not saying it's inside the park, just close by. The runway is less than a half mile from the glacier Bay wilderness line.

Yes it does, to bad this photo doesn’t show it.

Salt Lake City International Airport also has great views of mountains. I like how you can look at them through the big glass windows while walking through the terminals. And you get a good view of the lake and Antelope Island flying in usually.

Bishop, CA (BIH) beats it by quite a bit. You have the Sierra Nevada on one side, and the White Mountains on the other:
