Parabol vs Mossad: 1-0

Cross Post:
A small Swedish magazine used facial recognition technology to crack one of the most notorious unsolved assassinations of the 21st century: -the 2010 Mossad killing of Hamas co-founder Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh in a Dubai hotel room - naming two specific Israeli operatives the world's intelligence agencies never managed to identify. Then strange things started happening.
A copyright complaint from a company that doesn't exist made the article vanish from Google. Facebook and Instagram pulled the posts citing "promotion of crime." Google Trends showed sudden spikes of searches for the author from exactly two places on Earth: Israel, and a remote Austrian region home to a tiny village called Lestein - the same Austria that, according to Dubai police, hosted the Mossad hit squad's command center back in 2010. ** The pattern suggests an organized operation running automated alerts on everyone involved in the original killing, ready to spring into action and scrub the web the moment a name surfaces. ** The magazine fought back, won the appeal, and the article is searchable again. Round one to the journalists.

Fun fact - if you comment(ed) on this sub, look up google search history for your full (first and last name) from Israel.
You may notice a spike in hits around when you started. US-subsidized investment in Palantir at work.
I had zero hits ever, then suddenly 5, then none over again 🤷♂️.
MoonCheese21@reddit
If you change the timeframe, you can see the number of hits for a search at a given time changes. The number isn't the raw number of hits, it's a percentage with the most popular point in time always being 100%.
That's not to say there definitely isn't shady shit going on, but number itself is irrelevant, especially if there's just one spike.
Dav3le3@reddit
I totally, agree - I checked it with all time ranges available, hits were in march. No bump at all.
acupofcoffeeplease@reddit
Damn, I had mine searched and I cant even understand why, exactly 100 searches in the same hour. Like wtf
Stalinsghoast@reddit
Same
Dav3le3@reddit
Exactly the same here. Then it got scrubbed a month later.
PolyUre@reddit
No matter the time frame.
Dav3le3@reddit
Unique name! Mayne EU data laws protected you too?
PolyUre@reddit
I can most certainly assure you that I do not have a unique name.
Dav3le3@reddit
Maybe you just have good digital hygiene! Trycommenting some obvious anti-IDF stuff and check back in 10 minutes 😂.
See other commenters, seems like the israeli bots are quick with it.
Rekani@reddit
Is that so
cl3ft@reddit
This is a test to see if Palantir has associated my reddit user name with my real name.
Dav3le3@reddit
In google trends you can filter. Icon that looks kind of like a funnel that's in the top left corner.

Syrairc@reddit
well that's certainly interesting. same for me, though i can't tell if it happened when i started posting here, or when i got banned from the other world news subreddit for being critical of israel (for the first time on reddit.)
unfortunately they didn't find much, most likely. when I search my name its just pages of obituaries and a couple guys that got the death sentence in texas. apparently the only noteworthy thing anyone has ever done with my name is die.
MichaelDeucalion@reddit
Well shit
ybbsvs@reddit
Let's check.
PurpleMclaren@reddit
Huge balls to do this knowing that they have hit squads specifically to silence people speaking on their crimes.
This is wild, pretty sure they are in cahoots with reddit as well because your comments can be shadowbanned, visible to you but no one can see them if you use specific words.
Alissinarr@reddit
And post title words! Welcome to censorship.
Not-reallyanonymous@reddit
The one dude is one of the ugliest looking dudes ever, and the other is one of the most boring and generic looking dudes ever.
Lmfao. No wonder they are so invested in Israel. They have no value outside of their nationality.
renok2504@reddit
Why wpuld anyone not favoring Hamas would even think about going after the assasins of its co-founder? We are going after terrorist killers for killing terrorists?
2ndRandom8675309@reddit
Because if the rule of law and due process is supposed to matter in a country then it should matter for everyone. And it should absolutely matter to the people who live there that foreign agents showed up and executed someone. I'm no expert on Dubai, but I assume murder is a crime there.
renok2504@reddit
It is not the place of the involved swedes to investigate it. If anything it should be up to the local to investigate and draw their own conclusions. The assasination is much less severe than the fact that a massive terrorist was inhabiting a room next to civilians.
runsongas@reddit
countries have a vested interest to keep extrajudicial hit squads from operating because mistakes happen

Not-reallyanonymous@reddit
It can also undermine national interest.
4g-identity@reddit
What on earth does this "it's not your place" thing mean? People uncover who committed a crime, I thought that was good?
No idea what one crime supposedly being more "severe" matters, either. The less severe of two crimes shouldn't be punished, or what?
WestcoastAlex@reddit
i think you will find most people now see the israelis as terrorists
keep in mind that if we excuse your extrajudicial killings then we also have to look the other way if they decide to extrajudicial you.. give that some thought
ComputerStrong9244@reddit
Whoa whoa whoa, buddy. Making excuses for extrajudicial executions to further a political agenda is one thing, but cracking jokes about a dead guy's weight is just really fuckin' low
Possible_Top4855@reddit
Do you have the same feeling about leaders that commit genocide?
imunfair@reddit
What a surprise, someone I have tagged as pro-Israel doesn't understand why the world frowns on extrajudicial assassinations in foreign nations. As if that's just a totally normal thing to do - go around killing people your country doesn't like across the globe.
It's surprising how long Israel has gotten away with it, while countries like the UK scream bloody murder when Russia executes a defector from their own country in the west - and that's not even close to the same thing as targeted assassinations on random enemies of the state on foreign soil.
jacksonelhage@reddit
You can’t just label someone a terrorist and then execute them. Hamas is a group that believes it is fighting off a foreign invasion of its land. And to be honest they’re right. There’s nothing wrong with defending your land against invaders.
renok2504@reddit
10/7. Not the singular example, but the most obvious that those "people" care only about murdering as much people as possible. The consequences to Gaza were obvious and they procceded anyqy because they don't want to "liberate" it, but to kill any no arab in the area.
ShamScience@reddit
Some non-Austrian hiding in Austria decides, without trial or public oversight, that you're a terrorist, and sets out to kill you. You don't get to know why, you don't get to appeal. Are you still so sure you support this?
Secret police are bad. Death penalties are bad. I hope the perpetrators get arrested and face proper due process, which they denied to their victim.
RisingDeadMan0@reddit
So its fine then to assassinate Netenyahu and most of his genocial cabinet?
Cant see that creating any issues down the line...
Saint_EDGEBOI@reddit
Well, well, well 🤣🤣🤣
RisingDeadMan0@reddit
No suprise there, ironic that facial recongition is working agaisnt Mossad now too.
Peter Thiel better go "fix" that for them...
Do we have any links to this? primary/secondary sources?
Dinosaur_Ant@reddit
Right all that and no link to the article
