When Albania won against Armenian football team in 2015, it was celebrated by the Turkish society. Has the victory of a foreigner football team been celebrated and welcomed with joy in your country?

the turkey-armenia beef gets really funny when you start to ask what the hell are the turks so mad for
Classic-Exit4189@reddit
Fair point. Turkey is much more powerful they should ignore Armenia.
asir100@reddit
They do, nobody in Turkey cares, genuienly. If you visit as an armenian they'll even be happy. My armenian friend had a very good time there.

I had an Armenian friend during collage he was a cool guy but had to leave

What's even beef with Armenia from Turkish perspective?
Turkey is much larger and populated country than Armenia. They have Azeris to do dirty job against Armenia. Historically Armenians have more reasons to don't like Turkey than backwards.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
We didn't do Azeris do dirty job against Armenia.
First Nagorno-Karabakh War - Wikipedia Armenia declared war against Azerbaijan in 1988 and annexed Nagorno-Karabakh War which belong to the Azerbaijan before. It happened before the collapse of the USSR. We only helped Azerbaijan to regain it in 2020.
Personally, I don't have any problem with Armenians and I am pro-normalization, as majority of the Turkish youth are.
Until 1980s, there was an organizaton that was called ASALA, who killed Turkish diplomats with their families. When the declaration of war against Azerbaijan followed it, it caused negative opinions to grow. But today, it is really rare, only the old grandpas are anti-Armenian and we are hopeful to build a future together.
Lonely-Ad8869@reddit
No mention of the genocide Turkey committed over the armenians, all good.
Not only you made that, but somehow you also hate them even more instead of feeling remorse. Honestly dreadful thats mainstream.
EKrug_02_22@reddit
Hate? Turks don't even think about them to hate begin with. We have bigger problems than them.
But armenians can't live without mentioning themselves in Turkish related topics.
Lonely-Ad8869@reddit

EKrug_02_22@reddit

Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
Being a d*mbass and completely distorting what I'm saying.
When I said "source?" I was referring to him saying most Turks hate Armenians and deny the Armenian Genocide. I already presented my excuses to Armenians about this issue, why you're trying to take my words out of context?
bruhmanbruuh@reddit
So this is just a misunderstanding , you say. You , in fact , agree with official, mainstream academia that the Armenian Genocide is a fact.
Of course they do. A genocide cannot happen without genuine hate and aversion. The fact that most of your countrymen deny the genocide ever happened even as of now , while at the same time it is Turkey's state official policy to not acknowledge it.
EKrug_02_22@reddit
Yea you are correct. That's why armenians are the one who genocided Turks and kurds in the east. They were promised mandatory by usa if they can reach mediterranean and black sea. The unfun part is, they weren't even majorty their beloved "vilayet-i sitte". So what they did? Genocided them with russia's backing. They failed, now they are calling it "genocide"
Here is the source from first prime minister of armenia Hovhannes Katchaznouni;

asir100@reddit
Do you confirm the genocide done on turks in balkan? Genuine question.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
Armenian-Turkish Conflict and the Psychopathie of the Balkans are nothing like.
The conflict between the Turks and Armenians was a question of land. They fought with us for land and independence, which we responded with 1915 Decree of Deportation. But if Armenians actually took the land they wanted, they'd have no problem with us today. Or if Armenians accepted to become Turkish, the 1915 Massacres wouldn't happen.
In the Balkans however, AFTER the nations gained independence, they came to the villages and massacred civilians en masse including women, old people and children. They already achieved their goal, but still did it for a psychological relaxation and taking joy. It wasn't organized by one person, yet it happened in a scale of a century, very frequently, causing the Turkish population of Balkans besides Western Thrace, Kosovo and some isolated places of Bulgaria to be exterminated. Which is still celebrated today.
After almost 2 centuries, when the Yugoslav War started, they genocided non-Turkic Bosnians and Albanians, claimed that the people they killed were Turkic, they wrote songs like "My Dad is a War Criminal" to brag about it.
No Armenian or Turk could and ever be as psychopatic as this people. Balkan mentality is unfortunately the sh*thole of the world.
Lonely-Ad8869@reddit
Brother Turkey is by far the biggest perpetrator of war crimes on the Balkans, Serbia or anybody else that was conducting activities in Bosnia, is a joke compared to the millions that Turkey slaughtered.
Not only Armenians!
I find it very repugnant that you do not acknowledge it, yet try to act as morally superior.
This kind of behavior should be banned on social media in my opinion.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
I never denied that Turkish Empire did suppressed revolts in very bloody ways, as we can see in Niş.
But if we're ever going to compare it with the norm of that time, Turkey caused way less life loss than Russian, French and British Empires and plus, after the downfall of the Ottomans, Turkey openly supported Balkaner Muslims that have became victims of the ethnic cleansing.
Lonely-Ad8869@reddit
Early 20th century its the holocaust, and then the armenian genocide, tehre is nothing comparable to these two atrocities.
It was a absolutely not "acceptable" at the time.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
Turkey never did something as a holocaust.
Killing the rebels was definitely the norm at that time unfortunately. European Powers suppressed the revolts in India and Africa harsher than the Ottomans and caused loss of life. Deportation decrees like the one who caused the Armenian Genocide was also normal at that time's standarts, in fact, forced deportations were practiced until WW2.
Lonely-Ad8869@reddit
Millions of people were slaughtered man. Not deported, slaughtered.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
The official decree included the word "Tehcir" means "Exile" it is accessible in many archives about the Armenian Genocide, you can examine it. Words like "Eliminate" were not used in the decree of the junta. And many of them died in death marches while they were being transported to the Levant. From hunger or attacks from the local Muslims. The intellectuals were the ones who were abducted and killed.
Lonely-Ad8869@reddit
Brother over a million people were killed, its extremely cruel, and obviously a policy.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
There were no concentration camps in Turkey, we could have won the war if we could afford to have them. Anatolia back then was stone age. It is true that these people were killed but the methods of killing is different than what the text says.
During the War of Independence, we took cities like Erzurum back who were already in the Ottoman borders before 1919. This was war so people died, just like how Turks died when the Bulgarians took over Edirne.
bruhmanbruuh@reddit
I confirm it as much as the official, mainstream historical narrative does.
Simply put , yes. Although the question of whether or not the ethnic cleansing of the millions of muslim Ottomans is considered a genocide or not was/ still is a matter of academic debate, I myself am not an academic.
I don't condone it , I don't excuse it, I don't feel happy or sad about it. And most importantly, unlike the Turkish State collective consciousness, I don't use it as an excuse for past or future crimes against humanity.
It is simply a statement of fact. Above all else, I value scientific, academic truth.
InfernalVelocity@reddit
What an absolutely one sided take chock FULL of Turkish revisionism.
The Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh voted for independence via a referendum when the Soviet Union was absolved before Azerbajian did. The entity known as the NKAO was given to the Azeris via the soviets and it was not theirs to give.
Culturally and historically Karabakh was Armenian. Just because it was given to the Azeris by the Soviets does not mean it belongs to the Azeris. What you helped Azerbajain with in 2020 was to ethnically cleanse the region of Armenians. Congratulations. 100 years later and you turks still fuck over Armenians this time you just helped your cousins do it. And you wonder why you are hated by the minorities and ethnicities you commit atrocities against? Your ignorance is astounding.
You bring up ASALA and depict Armenians as terrorists, why don't you bring up why ASALA was created?
For everyone who wants to know the country of Turkey committed a genocide against the Armenians in 1915 and stole most of their indigenous lands. A genocide they either outright deny still to this day, or genocide they are proud of and brag about to Armenians because Turkish youth are brainwashed by their governments propaganda to be proud nationalists about their ancestors violent history.
Anyways, go take a DNA test.
Protobugarin@reddit
Yeah, considering commies draw borders I'm not surprised war erupted.
Thank you for answer anyway.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
You're welcome, just bare in mind that as the Turkish youth, we are pro-conflict with literally no nation besides Israel. Even those that we had conflicts before are always welcome to be our brothers as long as they want.
As a country, we have a population reaches 90M, second strongest military of NATO and a dynamic population. Yes we have problems like dictatorship and inflation, but no regime lasts forever, Erdoğan will also die or gets replaced one day and the generation that took lessons from the catastrophes of the last decade will come to power. Serbia can also be our ally, we have no reason to not to solve our problems together.
No matter in the name of what association, EU, NATO, BRICS whatever, we are always open to collaboration and most of us are nothing like the media presents us. Even with Greeks, most of the public are anti-war (They're just feel intimidated because of the rapprochement with Israel).
Imagine, when Kosovo War happened, most of the Eastern European countries actually did stand with Serbia, we, who didn't share any borders with Kosovo took 20,000 refugees and some stayed. We opened our country for both Albanian and Bosnians and knew them as our brothers, while having 68,8% inflation. Personally, despite all the ongoing insults that sometimes we may receive from them, I'm proud for my country to do it. And if I had the power, I'd do it over and over again.
My compatriots were the ones chanting "İnsanlar ölmesin, kan dökülmesin!" which means "May the humans not die! May their blood not be shed!" while Greece was worrying about "Refugee Crisis" and their Archbishop was declaring open support for Serbia against the Albanians. No matter what happens, I will always be proud of being in this side.
EKrug_02_22@reddit
There is no "beef" against armenia. Turks don't even think about them in their daily life, unlike armenians who their whole identity based on Turks. If Turks didn't exist, they also would't.
Turkey also didn't do "dirty job" with Azerbaijan against armenia. Armenia occupied Azerbaijani lands for 30 years, they wanted it back, Turkey send advisors and SOLD equipments. Azerbaijanis won it by themselves.
shqiptarski1444@reddit
Yt by you say Armenians wouldn’t exist if Turks didn’t, because you think they would’ve Hellenized?
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
He says all their national identity is based on hating us.
shqiptarski1444@reddit
Yeah but that doesn’t make sense because Armenians have unique language
EKrug_02_22@reddit
Yea but nobody would know they exists. Like bunch of tribes who speaks unique languages from each other.
shqiptarski1444@reddit
What? They have unique Indo European language so of course people would know they exist?

Why are you wasting your time arguing with a braindead nationalists who thinks everything is about his country?

The irony of him thinking Armenian national identity is based on hating Turks while schizophrenically obsessing over Armenians is quite hilarious

EKrug_02_22@reddit
Lol which fucking part is about "everything is about his county"? You all pulled the subject to Turkey, I answered. You all are the braindead ones.
I answered someone who asked "what's the problem between armenians and Turkey" you all dragged it into armenia.
EKrug_02_22@reddit
Nah, even know they can't show it on the map. They might hear it from somewhere but that's all.
shqiptarski1444@reddit
So you think Armenians would still exist you but they would be stateless like Kurds or something?
EKrug_02_22@reddit
No I don't think that. I didn't say that. I'm not sure if you are trolling or not.
I said "nobody would KNOW their name" never said "they wouldn't exist"
Also what does this relevant to "if Turks didn't exist" part? So you understood as if I said "if Turks didn't exists, Turks would remove armenians"? since we are talking about armenians?
shqiptarski1444@reddit
Are you trolling? How would nobody know their name? We know about isolated tribes in the Amazon and Africa so how would we not know Armenians?
And we don’t even know their name because we call them Armenian but they call themselves Hayastan
EKrug_02_22@reddit
How many tribe names you know lol.
Also you are the one who is trolling (or maybe not). How can you take it so direct to think I meant literally zero people know about them? I meant as "WIDELY be unknown to regular people"
I said it. You are coming from my sentence to this. That's what I'm saying. What you said is irrelevent.
shqiptarski1444@reddit
Well they are currently already are widely unknown to most regular people around the world
EKrug_02_22@reddit
Yea. Imagine if it's more unknown.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
Sure! He just used an unique analogy man.
Protobugarin@reddit
Didn't they exist much before you?
EKrug_02_22@reddit
I meant as being known. Nobody would knew about them. They sticked themselves to the Turks. Their whole existance, culture etc based on it. When someone say Turkish or armenian, other one comes after.
quarteretarded@reddit
Has turkey or azerbaijan ever given land to Armenia? Why has the opposite happened every time if this is the case, and also if Armenians are doing the ethnic cleansing and war, also why is Armenia always the one giving concessions under pressure to turkey and azerbaijan?
EKrug_02_22@reddit
No? I don't understand why this is relevant.
Because they lost? Losing ones gives "concessions."
Also why Turkey relevant again? When did Turkey "pressured" armenia? On the contrary, Turkey tried to normalize with armenia. It failed somehow, I don't remember much. But I remember they banned Turkish and Azerbaijani flags in Turkey - armenia football match. I don't remember exact date tho.
quarteretarded@reddit
So if I am understanding correctly you are complaining that a country that hasn’t taken a single meter of land from you is waging war and ethnic cleansing against you?
EKrug_02_22@reddit
I don't complain about anything. You didn't understand correctly.
Also what does that sentence even mean? Armenians etchic cleansied Karabag in 1990s. Now Azerbaijan took it back it's OWN land.
Because;
a) armenia isn't european country,
b) Because of that they don't relevant to europe,
c) balance of powers in outside of europe didn't metter to europeans back then. european countries are almost equal to each other. If one of them became too strong, others would hold it down. For that not to happen, they don't take much from losing side. Remember why nazis got the power. Versailles took too much from germans.
France, germany and britain kept each other on check for hundreds of years. Armenia isn't important to them.
For the balance, they even helped Ottomans against russians. They didn't want strong Ottomans but they also didn't want even stronger russia.
quarteretarded@reddit
Then do you support a withdrawal of the EU and US from Armenia if Armenia is not relevant to Europe?
EKrug_02_22@reddit
I don't care about armenia lol. They just aren't european like cyprus also aren't.
quarteretarded@reddit
Then you support the EU withdrawing from Cyprus and Armenia? Yes of no. Why would the EU be present in non European countries.
EKrug_02_22@reddit
My answer is I DON'T CARE. Since I'm not either from them.
Also armenia isn't in eu.
quarteretarded@reddit
If you don’t care then Nagorno Kharabakh should join the EU too.
EKrug_02_22@reddit
Karabag is Azerbaijani land.
Pashinyan can't do shit about that because they are not in eu.
quarteretarded@reddit
Yes he is sabotaging the accession process to join it. Nagorno Kharabakh at least can join it before him it is a separate country.
shqiptarski1444@reddit
I mean it wasn’t really by choice. Armenians did the same thing to the Persians in the past too. Because they are relatively isolated geographically so of course they have to live under large neighboring foreign powers
EKrug_02_22@reddit
That's not what I meant. "living under others" and "creating own identity on hating others" are different things.
NorthWelcome1626@reddit
Are you high bro? What dirty job? Armenians cleansed 700,000 Azerbaijanis in 1992. Today Azerbaijan took their legitimate lands and 100,000 Armenians escaped to Armenia. Where's the dirty job? If there was, it was Armenians did the occupation and cleansing.

i_getitin@reddit
BiH fans support Turkey and often wave Turkey flags even when it’s not Turkey playing. Bosnian Muslims seem to view their history of enslavement and forced conversions as a positive part of their history.
The Catholics in Bosnia will wave the Croatian flag more intensely than actual Croats from Croatia.
Serbs in R. Srpska cheer for Serbia as they don’t feel BiH team represents their republic/people.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
Not all Bosnian Muslims view the forced conversion as a positive part of their history, some of them are just greatful because despite not sharing with borders with them, Turkey uponly supported them when Serbians committed genocide in Srebrenica Rado Mladic enregistered a video, referring Bosnians as Turks and they'll take their revenge.
Not only Turkey at that time supported both Bosnia and Kosovo with military equipment despite the heavy inflation that we had, Turkey also took thousands of refugees. Greece took 5000 of Kosovar refugees (While their Archbishops were openly defending ethnic cleansing of Albanians), we Turkey took 20000 Kosovar and around 25000 Bosnian refugees.
What we did in 16th century is different, what we did in 20th century is different.
i_getitin@reddit
Oh please. Turkey didn’t do those things because they have a good heart. It’s all politics.
Turkey supported Bosnians and Albanians in Kosovo because it is in their political interest to have pro-Turkey/muslim states within Europe.
I’ll hear you out on the issue of turkeys sympathy towards genocide when your government starts talking and acknowledging the genocidal history they carry.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
Yes? Every state works for their interests, that's why we did it, we look for our own interests. Which also caused many lives during the ethnic cleansing of the Balkan Muslims.
i_getitin@reddit

Or are we pushing the narrative that this conflict is so unique from all other conflicts that it can be simplified to Serbs committing all the crimes and everyone else were just victims ?

I want to add that this football program is purely troll. It’s called beyaz futbol and nobody is serious in that program
Alive_Comparison_190@reddit
Hey fellas, apparently nobody’s talking about who actually poured these mythical words out of their bumhole?
This is an old referee, possibly alcoholic (who used to drink on air and turn football discussions into drunken debates while live cast) A mentally unstable and goes wherever the wind blows TV persona.
And you guys are seriously debating what he says instead of acknowledging the absolute delirium happening on television?
Like, seriously?

It was more like a meme show, half the time they didn't even talk about football . Just talking about random stuff and tried to troll eachother.

When we played them some albanian fans brought turkish flags to piss them off
Far_Country_1629@reddit
Not Balkan, but for some reason Bangladeshis love Argentina and celebrate their wins

there are a lot of people of albanian descent in turkey
Organic_Anywhere2393@reddit
These unnecessary Turkish haters in this subreddit are so low-IQ that they've brought me some comfort during these difficult times for my country.
My friend, 100 years have passed, come to Türkiye and see for yourselves. We've forgotten the past, you should look to the future. Life isn't long enough to define yourselves by your enemies.

I always root for Croatia Bosnia and Montenegro if Serbia is not competing
Laluci@reddit
Celebrating for enemies through proxy teams is pretty normal. 🤣
Protobugarin@reddit
There were people supporting Croatia in 2018
I rooted against cuz I'm based
Janosh_Poha@reddit
The vast majority of my Serbian friends wanted Croatia in 2018. The only ones who didn't want Croatia to win were Vučić lovers and colleague i have that wants the king back in power lol

From all these posts I’ve seen, I really didn’t know before how close Albania and Turkey are
Elmalukat@reddit
It was not because Albania won against Armenia, it was because Albania qualified for the first time Euro Cup in 2016 despite being weak on paper and beat the odds
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
This was also the reason you're right, just didn't want to extend the title, but thanks for the elaboration!
Ujemegaz@reddit
I think Albanian fans did it for shit and giggles did not expect them to be so angry about it.
Martha_Fockers@reddit
Fackin calm down eh lmao

a recent one.
Germany beating Turkey in the final.
commentator."Turkey performed brilliantly until 38. from 38' to 40' ... they drank sea water" 😳😳.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit (OP)
This is very interesting but Greece isn't a country that we celebrate when it loses. I think Armenia won't be too in coming years.

Every time Denmark loses in football, its celebrated by Swedes. Likewise everytime Sweden loses, its celebrated in Finland. I'm pretty sure this pattern is quite common all over Europe. If Hungary loses, I'm pretty sure Romanians will celebrate it. If Turkey loses, its party in Greece.

Bro in Serbia my Partizan friends hate-watch Red Star and enjoy their defeats more than Partizan wins.
I also support all teams that defeat croats
