According to sources, Cuba acquired more than 300 military drones and recently began discussing plans to use them to attack the U.S. base at Guantanamo Bay, U.S. Navy ships, and possibly the city of Key West, Florida, 150 km north of Havana.

Seems legit.

Could they get missiles or even nukes from Russia and set them up facing Washington?
Could be Cuban Missile Crisis, the Sequel

Russia (or any other recognised nuclear power) supplying nuclear weapons to any non-nuclear power would be a violation of the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty.
Ancient-Tax-8129@reddit
Like if russia gave nukes to Belarus
juflyingwild@reddit
Does Cuba not have the right to defend itself?
Inevitable-Regret411@reddit
Obviously they have a right to defend themselves, but they still agreed to abide by the treaty, both Russia and Cuba signed it. Besides, I can't see Russia deciding to violate the treaty since it would set a precedent that could come back to bite them.

This is Guantanamo Bay, which the US illegally "annexed" from Cuba in 1903 by coercing the then government to sign some sort of "perpetual lease", which after the 59' revolution the Cuban's have consistently said is illegal and the US must abandon their base there.
This definitely can get spicy as I see while it seems unlikely they will send nukes, they could as this news article states, give them "drones".
Cuba is the one nation state that knows US advanced tech, as they witnessed it first hand in Venezuela, so if they do launch an attack, the question becomes do they have a counter?

Why hit Washington? Florida is right there
Ancient-Tax-8129@reddit
I can see this happening, Cuba is ultra rich and can easily afford the only weapons russia is using.

It's going to be very embarrassing when a drone crashes into an aircraft carrier and they can't launch aircraft because of some scrap metal stuck in a year somewhere they can't access without breaking a warranty on something.

Or a laundry fire 🔥
SUICIDAL-PHOENIX@reddit
So... I was actually stationed on the Ford, and 4 other carriers. Laundry fires are actually common. It usually happens right before a deployment. I've never seen it happen on a deployment though.
In fact when I was stationed there for the maiden deployment, I remember doing laundry and the scotch marks from the last fire were still there, they never bothered painting over it.
