Yup republicans would be calling them rinos and democrats would be calling them far right extremist nazis 🤣 its almost like our founding fathers created a constitution and wanted a government that was small, limited, and represented the American people, American constitution, and American values.....and neither major political party does that, they just want to have "their side" be the authoritarian government and have power over the American people
"They just let the Brits roll in here and do whatever they want while he was playing in the snow at Valley Forge. Snowy George, they called him. If I had been general, they never would have came over here. We wouldn't have needed to fight for independence. Those limey bastards would have taken one look at this marvelous head of hair and they would be paying taxes to US. Thank you for your attention to this matter."
I'm not so sure. The founding fathers were inventors and users of the most advanced technologies of their time. If anything, I'd call them very technologically progressive.
Ben Franklin has many inventions credited to him. Thomas Jefferson was a cryptography nerd. Even George Washington invented some industrial farming tools.
There's no telling what they would or would not be OK with today, all we know is that our constitution has a process built in for changes
Welfare didn't exist back then because it couldn't exist back then. The industrial revolution was in its infancy. Half of all children died before the age of 10. They had different priorities back then. Welfare wasn't even thought of till industrial manufacturing had become common.
What the founding fathers surely did believe in was government establishing laws for the good of its people based on the circumstances of the time, and government being overthrown if it became corrupt and self serving.
It makes him a Con man. Especially since he ran a failed campaign in 2000 on eliminating national debt and achieving universal healthcare, both things he’s working against currently.
lol if they were here they’d say “so did Kamala get her voted to be the nominee or did a bunch of rich people just decide she was the right choice? If yes, then that’s an oligarchy.”
Back when Trump was first elected, I posted that he would have given Washington some awful nickname, called his wife fat, etc., and everybody on my Facebook went ballistic. But... we all know that he would have.

I’m sure they would not have been in favor of the welfare state

Could you imagine any of them unjustly taking the labor of some for the benefit of others. That's basically slavery.

I’m confused what that has to do with the welfare state

Read Thomas Paine's Agrarian Justice. He had some socialist ideas for sure. Also welfare existed but not from the government.

Trump was a registered Democrat from 2001-2009. So does that make HIM a RINO? 🤷🏼♂️

Trump is a RINO
LagerHead@reddit
That's because the Republican party didn't exist then.
Racheakt@reddit
The founding fathers would not recognize what we the people have allowed our government to become.
Syncdata@reddit
I like the well structured argument about something about 100 years before the republican party was formed.
Jokers.

Founding fathers werent even recognizable parties for most people. George even said parties where something to avoid.

Pretty emphatically, too, and backed it up with very good reasons.

I'm not even a Republican in name. If there's a D or an R next to your name you're probably not getting my vote!
