Getting documents apostilled 5+ years in advance for France

I am about to move to France. I am a dual citizen of another EU country so I will be living there legally without a visa, but am planning on applying for French citizenship in a few years (between 2 and 5 depending on if I go to school there). My academic transcripts so far/birth certificate/background check would all be from the U.S. Ideally, I would like to get all of these documents apostilled prior to leaving the U.S. as it is much easier from here, but I understand the French prefer more recent apostilles. Would it be a waste to get the documents apostilled now, or has anyone had success in situations with apostilles that are 5+ years old? Thank you!

Probably a waste, but the only way to know is to read the actual rules. Often documents must be no more than 6 months old. Get what you need now and the rest when the time comes.

Probably a waste. Also a background check that is 5 years old would be no good for just about any application.
