Do you believe the general countryside to be a bit too light green nowadays?

I’ve started to feel like the countryside looks a bit too light green these days, especially in spring and early summer. A lot of fields seem brighter and more uniform than they used to, almost like the deeper natural shades have been replaced by this vivid artificial looking colour. I think part of it comes from intensive farming and the kinds of grasses and crops that are planted now, because everything grows fast and evenly. It can still look beautiful of course, but sometimes it feels less wild and varied than the countryside I remember. I mean look, I’m all for greenery, but light greenery? Yeah, not so much.
I feel like the British nature has gone from chad to htn at best.

Do you think it's a more yellow-green shade?
I grew up in Canada and I feel like everything was a truer medium green colour when I was a child. Now (in Canada) the grass looks different from my childhood - a paler yellowish-green shade.

Something inside you I’m afraid. It’s White and Gold. Always has been.

There's a marked difference in the colour of British countryside at night, I find, as compared to the daytime.

The greens darken over the summer.
More chlorophyll and thicker leaves.
Happens every year

Less rape is grown now since flea beetles decimate the crops, it dropped by almost 20% last year, so probably does seem a lot more greener as it’s mostly wheats and barleys that you’ll see.

Is this a "the grass was greener" situation?
In Spring and early Summer everything is brighter and lighter green and the green deepens as we get further into Summer, but that's the way it's always been. I also think some years are deeper green than others. Each year seems to bring it's own set of plants that flourish in that summer's exact climate, and plants that don't do as well.

Mention this to an optician.

Mmm cant say it looks any different than it always has to me

I must admit that I haven't noticed this. Sometimes the grass looks patched and yellow if we've had a dry spell, and this seems to happen quite quickly. Could it be this?

They ripped out a lot of the hedgerows since i was a child, in order to use bigger combines. That's not great for the soil, for natute or for aesthetics!

No? Pretty much looks as it always has
