30M What is London like for African Expats?

I'm from Nairobi, Kenya and I'm thinking of moving to London. I want to do a Master's in Philosophy there. I was mainly interested in making lot's of friends as well as dating people of different cultures. Was wondering what experience Africans have had in London, especially those that didn't grow up there.
I am hoping to meet people interested in philosophy, psychology, comics, anime, alt rock, indie pop, indie rock, reggae, dancehall, eskrima, cooking, drawing.

Awful in the 2020s unless you’re rich and live in a cosmopolitan city, and even then the troglodytes come from the environs to have fascist marches. Honestly, I’d go elsewhere.

don't expect to be welcome anymore, many africans/ middle easterners abused of their rights and create a strong anti immigration bias view, which suck for people like you who just want to study abroad and have a normal life :/
My friend did his Erasmus at London last year, he was german but black, despite him being the nicest person i ever know he struggled really really hard to get a logement/ room and it was clearly because of his skin color (according to him), and overall he told me the brits weren't that kind but maybe that's a common thing idk
Now that's his experience, maybe yours will be totaly different and enjoyable, which i hope it will be !

Some people might not see you as an “expat”. They’ll see you as an immigrant. Also yeah, as the other commenter said, very anti immigration

What did you study for your Bachelor’s degree? Have you identified a university or college which offers a suitable course, and which is affordable etc? ,

All of Europe has seen a rise in alt right and anti immigration sentiment...

For the last 25 years. No need to fearmonger especially about the most multicultural, diverse European capital.
