ColeHimself@reddit
I've done it to truckers going through Jasper. They tailgate pretty bad in the speed limited zones. I don't mind spending a few hours on the phone getting a new vehicle out of their insurance.
Pazuzu156@reddit
We have cameras now. They'll see you brake checking. So no insurance claim for you
ColeHimself@reddit
Its automatic fault for the person that rear ends the one in front. And there's nothing wrong with getting on the brakes for wildlife or some dust in my eye 👍
SuperConfused@reddit
Not with video of intentional brake checking. It is charged under reckless driving statute in Wyoming. Tailgating is also illegal, but video shifts liability for that too.
ColeHimself@reddit
We aren't talking about Wyoming. We are talking about Jasper, which isn't in the filthy 50.

Tiburon712@reddit
Just happened to me last week on I-29 in Iowa. I’m a chemical tanker and was getting rocked from the sloshing. I called 911, and within 20 miles or so, Iowa State Patrol had the car pulled over. My company emailed my videos to the trooper as well. I’m not sure what the outcome was, but one can hope the driver was fined heavily.
SuperConfused@reddit
They need to be charged with reckless endangerment and go to jail. This should not be different than reckless endangerment with alcohol.
freedom_seed5-45x39@reddit

SuperConfused@reddit
Video is admissible in court. They are lazy useless fucks who would rather these people cause a 12 car pileup than do anything. Useless scumbags whose only purpose is revenue generation.
Middle-Fix-45n@reddit
Last time I did that the cops showed up and before I knew it, they sent him on his way while Im sitting there fuming. Cameras all over this thing. Eff those guys.
Zombified_Apple@reddit
I usually report them as drunk drivers. Give a license plate and general direction. Tell 911 that the are swerving everywhere and almost took out a family. Usually the car drives away and I dont see the after math. However I did see one get pulled over. Bet they had a hell of a day with that cop.
Round-Guarantee4948@reddit
Montana city cops are absolutely worthless
WarmDragonfruit8783@reddit
They don’t do a thing unless something is damaged, they only protect property if it’s damaged, that goes for people too.
LonleyWolf420@reddit
I have.. they dont do jack shit.. even had a few straight tell me they dont..
TwoToadsKick@reddit
If you're getting robbed they will help you. You're probably the guy brake checking
LonleyWolf420@reddit
The fuck? What's your deal?
I've had this happen in Dallas, Des Moines, Sioux falls,Atlanta, and denver the last 2 years.. Im the truck in the situation..
Police take a description and that's it. The last few times I asked them if they actually get them for it (because most leave the interstate) and I've never actually seen them get pulled over.. and they straight up said no. The normally dont.
Musty__Elbow@reddit
i know in atlanta they don’t give a fuck

Dallas? I don’t believe it.
Just kidding. I hate it here, everyone turns into a raging asshole the second they start their car

Do these morons in the four wheelers realize that if we hit them because they are brake checking us we’re not at fault I had this situation in Texas and the cop came up to me and look and said you know you’re getting a ticket nice dude with brake check me here’s the videos and the cop said OK no problem and he went. He gave a ticket to the idiot in the car which pissed the idiot in the car off. He screamed at the cop and the cop put them in the back of the cruiser.
charonco@reddit
You may not be at fault for criminal purposes, but if the person decides to sue you, you're definitely going to be found at least partially at fault for damages. We don't even really have to do anything wrong to be found partially at fault. There's no doubt that if a jury saw this video and saw you playing the game right along with them that they would assign fault to you and your insurance would be paying out. Look at the Werner case down in Texas. The four-wheeler slid across the median and ran head on into the semi. They found that the driver was partially at fault because he should have known better than to be on the road during those conditions. They paid out millions for that suit.
SycoJack@reddit
No dawg, this would have still been preventable. Cammer could have just gone around the 4 wheeler when he first showed up, or slowed down. But they didn't do any defensive driving.
NFLTG_71@reddit
The guy that got me was barely a foot past my front bumper and Gene on his brakes, I had no time my computer didn’t even try to stop the truck, but thank God that I have a dash cam
charonco@reddit
More people should be saying this. Dude in the four-wheeler was definitely an experienced idiot. However, the truck was playing his stupid game right along with him. He had plenty of opportunities to just slow down but he decided to keep trying to get around the guy. Never try to out idiot an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
TheElitist921@reddit
They do not.
yycTechGuy@reddit

BaylisAscaris@reddit
I hope they called the police and that person faced consequences. That asshole is lucky to be alive and they're putting everyone around them in danger. I get guys doing that all the time when I was driving my VW golf (tiny car). Turns out a lot were trying to get my number, so if that happens to you just assume they're flirting, makes it funnier.
thisFishSmellsAboutD@reddit
Drivers like this should be counted as free ones. One per week sounds fair.
J0HNNYCUPCAKES@reddit

Randomfactoid42@reddit
So many drivers get really unhinged if you blow the horn at them. They just can’t handle the implication they did something wrong and they do this crap. I’m a 4-wheeler and I rarely hit the horn because I’m afraid of somebody going off the deep end over nothing.
whubbard@reddit
Yeah, I have a feeling the horn was hit (rightfully), driver has a death wish. Trucker should have backed off, not worth it.
dismendie@reddit

Typical Charlotte driver. I'm honestly shocked he used his turn signal.
twenafeesh@reddit
Did he use it? Or has it just always been on? It's on for the whole video.
dadbodsupreme@reddit
They turned it on when they left their house this morning.
ljanus245@reddit
Looked like he had it on as he merged onto 485 off of Benfield Rd. Which surprises me even more because nobody uses turn signals in University City. It had to have come on by accident.
RollinHellfire@reddit
It was turned on. Either forgot or purposefully, to confuse and prevent everyone else from taking over. In most places this is about 6-36 months driving prohibition and unconditional revoke of drivers license.
Blaizefed@reddit
He didn’t know it was on. Just used to blinking lights all over the dash.

Can't believe nobody's said it yet. You lost your temper to an amateur. Driving on the shoulder to try to pass? What were you thinking? Idiots are dumb? You're bigger than them? Learn patience. You saw those cars merging in. Slow Down! You're nuts or drunk on power. Chill tf out. Done.

Charlie_Hustler@reddit
Yeppp. Had some old guy in a pickup truck racing up on me in the left lane. I waited till he passed and then moved over to try and pass a slower car in the right. The old guy whom im assuming was in his 60s. Proceeded to slam his brakes and drop from 70 to 35. Made all the cars behind us swerve and honk at us. I got flashed back into the right lane and bro no turn signaled into my lane and brake checked one last time before speeding off.
Boggles my mind still how someone so old could be so dumb 😮💨
DaSaw@reddit
Never.
I am pretty sure the car driver is responding to how closely the truck is following him. Did you see how fast the truck came up on him? Long before the car hit their brakes. And when they did, it was brief, just flashing it a moment, as the truck proceeded to ride his ass, hard.
Never happens to me, because I would have seen that car coming over long before I came up on him. I would have started slowing down, long before I came up on him. The driver in this video is the classic "truck driving just means standing on it the whole way, and fuck anyone who dares exist in front of me" type.
Tricky_Big_8774@reddit
Maybe the car shouldn't have dove into the second lane when merging then.
yeah-no-yeah-no@reddit
This is exactly what I was thinking when I watched the first part of this video. Then when I saw the car engaged with the semi but the semi continued to drive right on there tail.
As a professional driver, 1st you should’ve slowed down when the car pulled in front of you in your lane — yes, even if they were in the wrong. 2nd, once the car started to engage in road rage, you put your hazards on and you back off.
ghettoccult_nerd@reddit
this is just typical shit at this point. theres a growing number of drivers just out here wanting to cause chaos. trucks are just an easier target.
its a daily thing where i come across drivers obviously being difficult and wanting to hold folks up. not even just commercial trucks, anybody.
and thats not counting the ones that are just oblivious, dinking around on their phones.

FutureCorpse699@reddit
Not to excuse what the car did, but why the fuck would that truck driver continue to be so close? Back off. Create distance. He’s equally as cunty as the car.
starlux33@reddit
Honestly I would see the the merging traffic with the semi holding up the line of cars and anticipate cars wanting to get around it, so I would have gotten in the next lane to the left, and if there was a lane restriction on both left lanes, slowed down before the car got over.
This doesn't excuse their stupidity for brake checking and swerving, but you did slow down a bit late and rode their ass for a minute.

Ok-Bar5260@reddit
To this level, about 3 times. Single, maybe double brake checks, about weekly. Call me unlucky.
yeah-no-yeah-no@reddit
Sounds like you might be the common denominator. Just a thought. Certainly could be bad luck too, but this has never happened to me in 1 year 8 months of truck driving OTR. But I take following distance very seriously and mindful if someone cuts into my lane in front of me, I still make efforts to keep a safe following distance. Not saying you don’t, cause obviously I don’t know you at all. Just saying I think this is way I’VE never had anyone break check me. But, maybe it’s just the Irish good luck I have, who knows.

gooseberryfalls@reddit
No reasonable person could come to this conclusion. You're saying this because you know the real reason the driver is doing this isn't enough to warrant a response from law enforcement.
This is kind of like the same thing as "silence is violence" or microagressions, where people inflate something they don't like so they can complain about it and receive attention from others.
Mooshimaro@reddit
"the real reason the driver is doing this isn't enough to warrant a response from law enforcement"
Since when does the reasoning behind someone breaking the law change the fact the law was broken and should be enforced?
Everybody understands the danger brake checking poses, especially in this sub. If they're doing all this that you see in the video, why make any positive assumption about their intent?
Better safe than sorry.
Natste1s4real@reddit
I’m saying this from experience. They were in a stolen car with a handgun and handcuffs. Two of the three that were apprehended had warrants for their arrest already.

Analysis: Comment further up suggested they’re trying to stop the truck in a jacking, doubtful as on a major freeway with shit ton of witnesses plus the alternate perspective somebody posted showed possibly only one occupant. Probably the worst attempted fraud if that’s what they were going for. Honestly seemed to me like he was trying to get the truck to stop yes, but where the grift goes from there I’m having a hard time imagining. Doesn’t seem like a pro con man or a plan is involved.
Conclusion: just say no to flakka kids!
Mondschatten78@reddit
Insurance fraud is what he's trying to commit. Probably hoping the truck would hit him so he'd get some imagined huge payout.
Busy-Purple-3779@reddit
Trucker is in the wrong. He’s driving like a lunatic. Four wheeler is is being a lunatic right along with him
yeah-no-yeah-no@reddit
1000%…thank you for saying this. I was getting worried I was the only one who thought so.
Busy-Purple-3779@reddit
Four wheeler got over in plenty of time. Trucker tried to bully him out of the lane. Four wheeler wouldn’t be bullied, and started to be an asshole back to the asshole. That’s what I saw. Truck drivers are so accustomed to bullying ppl out of a lane, that when it doesn’t work, they loss their shit
yeah-no-yeah-no@reddit
Agreed. It makes me so mad when I see truck after truck riding a 4-wheelers butt so close you can barely fit two credit cards between them. Just trying to bully them into moving into the other lane, so the truck can continue speeding and driving out of control. Reckless & selfishness a-holes.

I had this happen the other day numerous times in a row by the same car. He wouldn’t let me pass either. He was upset because I was passing another semi and he tried to come up on my right and get by between us but he was too far back and I was passing when he got up there. It didn’t even take me long to pass but he got ticked off because he wasn’t able to get between us so he got in front and kept slamming on his brakes and slowing way down. I got in the other lane and he swerved over in front of me so I got back over. He eventually took off but he spent more time slowing me down and possibly causing an accident than I had set him back in the first place. A bunch of immature children on the road

Many drivers treat the road like it belongs to them, forgetting they’re sharing a public space.
Driving isn’t an entitlement; it’s a privilege that can be taken away when it’s misused and/or abused.
That’s why driver re-education should be mandatory at every renewal, at least every two years, including training on road rage de-escalation, impaired driving, and core safety practices.

Had this exact thing happen on 285 around 6 in the morning. Dude brake checked me, then when I swerved into a thankfully open lane to avoid killing him he sped up, got over, and did it again. All because I merged onto the highway (plenty of room) and he wasn’t able to keep doing 90 or whatever he was at.
