Dial the operator

Just read the post about ordering the pizza. This was my experience. A year ago I needed to make an international phone call. I had the country code and the phone number, but it would not go through. I googled, how to call New Zealand from Canada, checked the Telus chat bot, no answer. Finally I wondered if I could still get an Operator by calling 0? And yes, a lovely lady answered and told me what I was doing wrong. It had been at least 25 years since I last needed Operator assistance.
