Going to F1 gp at Hungaroring, need some advice

Hello friends, Polish guy here travelling to Hungarorinh end of July for the F1 race.
Would you be so kind and help a lengyel out?
I can see that normally it takes about 2 hours to get from the airport to the track by public transport. Will there be some other mode of transport during the race?
Where would you recommend accommodation so that I can easily get to the track and not spend a fortune?

Hey, Budapest local here — happy to help!
Getting to Hungaroring: Best option during race weekend is the special shuttle bus from Keleti train station — runs directly to the circuit, takes about 45 mins, very affordable. Much better than trying public transport during race weekend when it gets extremely crowded.
Accommodation:
Tips:
Hope that helps — enjoy the race! 🏎️

I think people usually recommended public transport to get there as the roads will be completely blocked. Accommodation will probably be expensive no matter what, have a look at the booking map view and set the max price low to find good deals, then use Google maps so see how far it is by public transport.

Here's the information from last year: https://www.mavcsoport.hu/mav-csoport/utazzon-mav-csoporttal-formula-1-magyar-nagydijra
If you're going straight from the airport the fast way is to take the 100E (with special ticket) to Astoria then metro 2 to Örs Vezér tere.

Use the regional train name HÉV H8 from Örs vezér tere until the stop Mogyoród and walk from there. From any point of the city you can get easily to Örs vezér tere

If you can pay the 2500 huf for the 100E, go to Deak Ferenc ter, from there M2 to Örs Vezér tere, and from there HÉV to Kerepes. Be prepared it will be very, very crowded.

Or take the 200E bus from the airport to Kőbánya-Kispest for 500 forints, then transfer to the M3 metro line to Deák Ferenc tér. This is much cheaper (max 1000 huf instead of 2500 huf). From there, you can continue the same way on the M2 to Örs vezér tér, then take the H8 HÉV. It really is a crowded route, especially in the afternoon and evening; we took it last year too. But if you take a taxi from the track back to Mogyoród station (we payed around 1500 huf for it last year), you’ll avoid the crowds getting on at the closer Szilasliget stop, so you’ll have a seat, and it wasn’t too bad that way, though it also depends on which day you go.

+1
From Kerepes there will be free buses to that take you directly to the track.

Hi, when i went couple years ago we took the local bus line (volán busz) from the subway station Újpest Városkapu. Normally the bus that goes to the village where the F1 ring is has a bus station called "Hungaroring", however, the bus does not go there. I was upset by this, but then I understood why, once I was there. It was super crowded with cars and private busses, no way the bus could have gone there. So anyway from the bus station Mogyoród, Fő tér (Mogyorod Main square) it was like a 20-30 minutes walk. We tried to get a taxi, but the taxi driver was upfront and told me it will be quicker on foot, since the roads are completely full.
We just walked, we also brought our picnic blanket, lot of snacks, water etc.
On the way back we walked back to Mogyoród Fő tér bus station. The bus was super late because of the traffic, and also was going with like 10 km/h hour because it was such a traffic jam. To be honest it's better if you stay later on the track, or have a nice dinner at Mogyoród in a restaurant, then catch a later bus.

Airport is south from BP and Hungaroring is North. You will need to cross the city and M3 metro is great for that. - There is a slower bus that you can use with a single ticket form Airport to KÖKI (Kőbánya Kispest metro station), 200E, single ticket BKK is 500 HUF.
- There is a faster bus, the Airport bus and it can take you to Deák square (100E), 2500 HUF price for one ticket. (Its relatively fast and comforatble)
- So from the airport you will get to some M3 metro station (Kőbánya Kispest, Kálvin or Deák) based on the bus you choose.
You will need an other BKK single ticket for the metro and the VOLÁN (its not BKK like the metro) bus is going to the Hungaroring from an other M3 metro station (Újpest Városkapu),
You will find fairly priced accomodations near Újepst Városkapu. Its out of the centre but the metro can take you there in 20 minutes if you want to.
(I dont have knowledge about any special public transportation options specifically for that weekend, but it doesnt mean that there isnt)
