Vehicle recommendations? Coming from a 2011 ford fiesta.

Well after 15 years and just under 160,000 km the transmission has shit out, it wont go into reverse anymore and it slips while its in drive, so its not really drivable anymore. I am not so sure fixing it is going to be worth it + as its starting to really rust out from Calgary winters. I have been looking at new 2026 vehicles, one thing I am noticing is that even after 15 years not much has been improved but prices sure have sky rocketed...

I liked the way the fiesta drove, I liked how small it was while still having back seating/trunk space + it had heated seats & bluetooth. What I didnt like was how easily snow/ice built up in the wheel wells, I actually cracked my rear side panel when I was 3 years in due to snow build up.

I know I only got to 160,000km after 15 years, some of that not even being mine because I would let my parents/siblings frequently borrow my vehicle. However I am guessing with age life might change more and I wont be so lucky to work so close to home and I will likely end up driving more over the next few years.

I have looked at a few vehicles, Toyota Corolla LE, VW Jetta Sport, Honda Civic LX. Toyotas reliability reputation had me leaning more towards it until I sat in a VW Jetta Sport, I really liked the lumbar support interior feel but I have no idea about reliability on those things. It is also more expensive.
