Blindness would certainly limit people's ability to cook and that's a pretty major disability

You would be surprised. I work with seniors providing home care. Lots of blind people do all the same things we do every single day. I had one lady that made the very best oatmeal and coffee I've ever tried (on the stove) every morning before I arrived. If no one told you, you would never have guessed she was blind. Don't ever assume people are incapable. Having a disability doesn't make you useless.

Well, I guess not all people experience disability the same. I have a close friend whose aunt turned blind from cataracts and essentially stopped being able to do anything by herself

I lived with my blind aunt for a bit growing up, great cook, much better than my mom who has eyesight.

The blind tend to adapt to be able to do pretty much everything they used to be able to do, except maybe drive.

A lot of people CAN'T bathe themselves, and many more can only do so with significant mental or physical discomfort. Sounds like you are ignorant to how many people struggle with disabilities that you may not see on a surface level.

JFC dude, some people just aren't good at things. She's otherwise pretty successful - she can do complex math which for me might as well be an alien language. Like, she can make a sandwich or a salad but she's not going to ever be able to put on a roast dinner and why should she feel bad about that? She can easily afford to pay other people to do it for her.

For some people it's the time management of cooking. They can follow instructions and make a pizza that is S tier or peel potatoes and make fries. But ask them to fry a steak and boil potatoes at the same time and they about have a panic attack.
