I really liked this stuff as a kid, but as an adult I don't really understand it. I assume they were never driven - did they run?
Those horizontal steering wheels right in your crotch must have been something, even if you were just getting pushed around to get in place for a show.
And, as previously pointed out, dude dude would have have been limber to get into and out of without getting some permanent scaring from those pipes.
The Ice Truck, at least, is drivable. Woods wrote about how he would take it into a parking lot and do some donuts. He called it the world’s biggest go-kart—with such a low center of gravity and such wide tires, it’d be impossible to flip

The ladder on the fire truck is not very useful. And it has tiller steering. These are works of art, not practical in any way.
