How to meet new people?

So I am 19, and am back from uni for the summer. However I don’t really have too many friends here anymore as many have gone on to other things, so I feel I am going to be very bored.

Preferably, I’d like to find friends who enjoy sports, but ofc people that enjoy my other hobbies would be appreciated as well, but specifically I’d like more people I can just talk football with, go to watch games etc.

How would you recommend I find these friends? Are any apps like Wizz any good for this, if not what are ways I can meet friends like this?

What sports do you enjoy playing? There's outdoor volleyball starting end of this month, if it's something that you can see yourself playing, you can look up the MK volleyball club.
