Orange frosted cinnamon rolls

My husband just turned 59 last week, and we celebrated by making the Pillsbury rolls in a can. Both our mothers would make these every now and then growing up, and it was always one of our favorites. And they still hold up!
Cobra-Lalalalalalala@reddit
Anybody else do the thing where you uncoil four of them to wrap around the other four and make four BIG ones? I swear the packaging used to suggest this as an option, because I tried it as a kid, and have been doing it ever since.
ihatepickingnames_@reddit
I still buy those once in a while. Love the orange icing! The problem is that I can eat all of them in a single day!
vamousecatcher@reddit
A single day ? You're doing good. I eat them all in one sitting as soon as they're finished cookin & cooled off
random420x2@reddit
Cooling off? Hmmmm, I should try that. š¤£

Get in my stomach!
DuchessOfLansdale@reddit
Get in my belly š
quietlumber@reddit
Holy shit! I just made those this morning before work, for myself and my daughter, to celebrate my last Sunday shift before retirement. I also made a can with buttercream frosting for the wife and son as they do not appreciate the greatness of the orange frosting.
DuchessOfLansdale@reddit
Happy retirement to you!
Expensive-Vanilla-16@reddit
I forgot about them. Also had no idea they were still around.
DuchessOfLansdale@reddit
They are! But thereās only one store that carries them where I live.
Walzz111@reddit
I havenāt had these in forever and a day but i could immediately smell them when i saw the pic.
djrefugium@reddit
Yummm. My mom was a terrible person but she had a weakness for these. So good .
rlr0718@reddit
Soooo good when you can find them.
Ivotedforher@reddit
Got some in my fridge right now. Want some?
cl8855@reddit

Roseliberry@reddit
Hell yes!!
Salt_Recipe_8015@reddit
I'm 57 and my mother or wife makes these for me every christmas morning.
vamousecatcher@reddit
I love those
Much-Extension-4752@reddit
My kids looove them. I bake some at least once a month
JulesyJ@reddit
I still make those on thanksgiving/Christmas morning. It was a tradition growing up and I just kept it going.
absent_presence72@reddit
Great holiday idea! Love these orange rolls
JulesyJ@reddit
We do these and sausage balls. Easy and quick and everybody can get to opening presents. We do the sausage balls the night before and cook them in the morning of.
absent_presence72@reddit
Nice! We do a breakfast casserole. Thanks!
JulesyJ@reddit
Yum! What kind?
shamashedit@reddit
These were on special for 1.29 at my local grocery outlet. Got 3.
BurritosMadeMeDoIt85@reddit
My kids love the orange! We have some almost every Wednesday.
seattlemh@reddit
I was always sad when my mom bought these instead of the plain cream cheese frosting. Not a fan.
bonepugsandharmony@reddit
The bits of āorangeā were (are?) so tough! Seeing these on a weekend morning was my breakfast equivalent of getting a happy meal burger with the chopped onions mistakenly left on. Still ate them, but only after half a day methodically removing each āchunkā with surgical precision. š¤®š¤”
Outrageous_Drag6613@reddit
Mom would make these on special occasions. Also have found memories of Cinnabon in the mall as a family treat place. TCBY yogurt as well.Ā
Bucks2174@reddit
We eat those for a Christmas morning breakfast every year. Itās a tradition my now adult kids look forward to. Lol
btvpfl@reddit
My husband will get these and the ones with regular icing. He's a bigger fan of the orange I'm a bigger fan of the regular
BoredBSEE@reddit
Oh holy crap I remember those! I must have some now, immediately!
EidelonofAsgard@reddit
I still eat these!
Apprehensive_Net_829@reddit
I'm so glad to know that these still exist. So good.
OkOkra7720@reddit
Yeah but as I've said before lol if you get them now pilbury cinnamon rolls or the orange ones if you can there not the same just buns with this crackle stuff on them....sigh!
Affectionate-Map2583@reddit
The orange rolls are still the same, as per OP's picture (at least for now).
Affectionate-Map2583@reddit
So delicious! That's my childhood Christmas morning tradition, which I continue to this day. I also make them a couple of other times throughout the year. During COVID, for some reason you couldn't find them anywhere and I had to resort to a copycat recipe for Christmas. The recipe was good, but so much more trouble than just whacking a can on the side of the counter.
tal125@reddit
We have these every holiday.
LetUsTryThisOnceMore@reddit
I STILL love these!!!
ExactCraft5@reddit
Growing up my dad would make them for dessert.
TempurmentalSam@reddit
Yes, please.
Ckc1972@reddit
Cinnabon is even better.
pemart22@reddit
Seems like we had these at least every other week. My mom would even zest a little orange peel on them.
TC_Stock@reddit
I grew up on these. They were always a treat. These were unknown however to my gen-x wife until I introduced them to her. She finds them repulsive.
Lanky-Highlight9508@reddit
Oh hell yes!
Jakes-buddy-1307@reddit
Yumm!
Surprise_Fragrant@reddit
I have two cans in my fridge right now!
Okay, Life Hack time...
Take your rolls out of the tube.
Separate all 8 rolls.
Take four of the rolls and unroll them.
Then, take one fully rolled roll and wrap it with a fully unrolled roll, so you have a double-size roll.
Bake a few extra minutes (maybe 14-15 minutes, depending on your oven). Frost as usual.
You're welcome.
CWShermanGirl@reddit
Iām going to try this next time. We normally eat at least two at a time anyways so this will make it easier and more fun.
TheRealRaceMiller@reddit
Nothing says gen X than having all your meals be processed foods.
jk_pens@reddit
This specifically was a Christmas morning tradition in our household growing up. No idea why.
worrymon@reddit
Oranges used to be a big treat to get for xmas. They were affordable but still exotic during the depression.
They also kept the candy from falling out of the hole in the toe of the stocking.
slasherbobasher@reddit
My husbandās too!
CTurtleLvr@reddit
These are my fave!!! We would make them occasionally growing up and Iāll get them every now and then now. I like to unroll a can and roll one around the other for bigger rolls!
blueberryheat@reddit
I make them every Sunday and bring one to work each day. It's my little piece of happiness while sitting in corporate hell waiting to retire.
MoveToPuntaGorda@reddit
I LOVED those!!!
LadyNorbert@reddit
I never had them growing up, but my MIL makes them for every holiday meal and my husband loves them. They are quite nice!
NaturGirl@reddit
I was JUST talking about these with my husband the other day!
CandidateReasonable4@reddit
OMG, these were sooo yummy! My siblings and I fought over who got the last one.
SinD2315@reddit
Memory unlocked!!! THE ABSOLUTE YUM!!!
Tyezilla@reddit
Mom made these in Holiday mornings. So good.
Impressive-Eye9920@reddit
Ooooo...how do you make the orange frosting please?? š¤¤
Sometimesunaware@reddit
It's in the tube already, Pillsbury Orange Cinnamon Rolls - these are pretty good.
Impressive-Eye9920@reddit
I'm in Canada - I don't think these exist here..š„ŗš Thanks though
CalifGirlDreaming@reddit
Make a simple powdered sugar glaze with orange juice and add a little zest
Impressive-Eye9920@reddit
Thank you š
kinisoncartwright@reddit
When I first moved in with wife we were so poor and these were such a treat. Coffee and these on a morning together was amazing! Thanks for the memories
Ordinary_Sail_414@reddit
By far the most superior breakfast baked good. These take me right back to childhood, and why are they not in my fridge?? Off to Meijer I go...
smithe68@reddit
Still love these, only eat them once or twice in a year though. My mom made them during the holidays when I was a kid. Not the orange ones but if you take the regular flavored ones, unroll them and roll a piece of precooked bacon in them before baking them, you will have an amazing treat.
Sometimesunaware@reddit
My daughter's fiancƩ grew up with a mother who never let them have any sort of junk food, we introduced these to him, he was amazed with them.
Electrical_Fishing81@reddit
Every now and then I have to have these just because š. Takes everything to not eat more than a couple in a sitting.
Legitimate_Ocelot491@reddit
Took everything I had not to eat the entire package in one go.
Cinnamon rolls are my weakness, especially after I discovered buttercream frosting.
Electrical_Fishing81@reddit
The only thing that stops me at two is looking at the calorie count on the package. My metabolism is slower than molasses in January.
mdbuff@reddit
Inject that frosting right into my veins
Retracnic@reddit
Hey, I remember when I could still eat those. If even think about reaching for one now, I can hear my doctor's voice talking about my A1C levels.
Andovars_Ghost@reddit
LOVED these! My mom would make them any time I came home to visit as well.
poop_on_you@reddit
Just made them last weekend on a whim. I have a from scratch recipe I make for holidays but the og orange rolls in the can slaps.
waldo-doggie@reddit
Oh my goodness this was like Pavlovās dogs. My mouth started watering as soon as I saw the photo as the memories came rolling back.
brownmtn@reddit
I love these.
DejaWiz2@reddit
Same for us...always my favorite sweet treat breakfast growing up and so glad that Pillsbury still makes them!
ReadingCat88@reddit
These are a holiday tradition here as well. They have to be the classic frosting ones.
Sibby_in_May@reddit
I still making them every Christmas morning. A little heavy cream or milk in the bottom of the pan and they come out even better.
