Yes. Loved them both.
Fair-Wishbone-1190@reddit
Family ties but not Cheers.
Trolldad_IRL@reddit
Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers, Night Court.
Won’t watch Cosby any more, but I enjoyed it at the time. Family Ties was good most of the time, but it was more of a I’m not changing the channel laziness. Cheers and Night Court were the best.

I didn’t understand Cheers or Frasier later during college. Now when I catch an episode of Frasier I crack up! Ah, growth!
Mom_who_drinks@reddit
Never missed it.
TripMaster478@reddit
Uuummmm who did not? Those were the greatest shows. Michael J Fox is a Canadian icon. "Norrrrmmmmm" still gets chanted at bars.

I'd be curious to know what the other two networks even bothered putting up against it. I'm too tired to go down that rabbit hole though.
Weird-Girl-675@reddit
Yup and now I own both box sets.

I more remember watching Cheers and Night Court on Thursday nights
Fluffy_Respond_7405@reddit
No, it was church night.

I can't say I've ever watched an episode of family ties and only a few Cheers.
And I can't say why, honestly
MamabearFl@reddit
Honestly same. My husband absolutely loves Cheers, used to watch it with his mom, so I understand. I didn't watch TV with my family, as I didn't really have one growing up.
BluesGraveller@reddit
Nope. I was over on CBS watching Magnum, P.I. and Simon & Simon.
nixtarx@reddit
Shoot, I still kinda do. Both are widely available on free-streaming platforms. I'm not always pleased with to whom my ad-viewing revenue goes, but I need my nostalgia fix once in a while.
10glide@reddit
As soon as the theme from Hill Street Blues started, I knew it was bedtime.
desertkayaker@reddit
Miami Vice was our bedtime bell. Mom would let me watch the intro and do a little air drum dance, then off to bed.
tampaforfun@reddit
That or mash.
Professor-genXer@reddit
My mom loved that show. Sometimes we would sneak and watch it.
FAx32@reddit
A little. I liked Cheers more than Family Ties. I remember watching more of the Cosby Show and Growing Pains than FTs as far as family based sitcoms go when those shows were new.
CappuccinoBreve@reddit
We'd watch those if we weren't watching shows we'd taped on Monday Tuesday or Wednesday.
Melodic_Caramel1777@reddit
Yes, unfortunately. I despised both of those shows, but it’s what my parents wanted to watch.
time2sow@reddit
O sure. And this won't track the same in 2026 but this was a special treat night where one of the folks would bring home mcd and we'd watch and eat late dinner together in the tv room.
OldLifeguard-00@reddit
Family Ties. I was too young to “get” Cheers
